Multiple USB failure...

I have had a few power clips at my apt but the other day I can home to spin and my 2000's wouldn't read my USB's at all and when I inserted them into my computer it forced me to reformat them before I could go any further. However the SD cards were fine. Very strange that both USB's malfuntioned at the same time. I've never seen this so I ask if anyone has an idea why. I know it's a USB problem but I'm not sure how or why. Anyone have a clue. Please advise if possible.

I take them out now when I shut the players down now but there must be an explanation. Thanks and take care...

Should we remove SD cards and USB's when turrned off?

@Johnboy > Its likely that when the power cut out the USBs became corrupted (similar to pulling a USB from the computer before you do a SAFE EJECT) and now neither the CDJs or your computer can find the data on it (although, the data is still there - unless, of course, you did format them as prompted). If you haven't formatted them, you can repair the MBR table on the USB which will enable your computer to see the data again.

Honestly, I didn't think this would happen with the CDJs but, thinking about it, I guess it can.

No, its not necessary to remove them.

Also, just to add - testdisk is a great utility to repair the MBR. Although it has no GUI, you should be able to figure your way through it relatively straightforward.

From playing in scratch live and switching to SD card or USB Stick , No it will not let me link CDJ 2000/LPD8 back to Serato.

LPD8 drops out as well.

After CDJ200/LPD8 will not respond I have bypass the powered USB port and hooked up direct from laptop to CDJ2000/ LPD8 pad the port on my Mac it will not respond I have to reboot and once I reboot CDJ2000/LPD8 work fine with Scratch live if I try to go to SD/Usb it happens all over again.

I'm going to replace powered USB hub and going to replace ethernet cable and try a different LPD8 pad and Try a Different Roland Uno midi to usb that I use for pionerr 800

I will let you know what happens.
