CDJ 2000 model update/upgrade

Hello,

I'm thinking about replacing my Denon DNS 3700's, and since Denon just announced SC3900, which is very similar to my DNS3700 I've decided to go with CDJ 2000. My question is: do you anticipade Pioneer will release newer model od CDJ 2000's (CDJ 2000 MK2 or CDJ 3000, or something along those lines) soon???

CDJ 2000 has been around for almost 3 years, and the reason I'm asking is because I don't wanna spend $3K on new decks, if in few months Pioneer might release an upgrade.

I tried to research their hardware release cycle online CDJ 1000 was released in 2001, CDJ 1000 MK2 in July of 2003, CDJ MK3 in March of 2006, CDJ 2000 in September (announced)/December (available) of 2009... so following that logic should we expect the new flagship deck soon?  maybe by the end of this year???

You guys are the experts, so please put in your 2c. thanks!!!

@Alen > Yes, I do think Pioneer will release a new product. When is anyone's guess. As you may have seen when you signed up for the forums we do not discuss product rumours or release information.

If the current generation of units fit your needs now then buy now. There will always be something better coming out at an unspecified future date.

Even if there is would you want to take your chances with a new machine that has bugs and faults as the 2000 has had?

i personally would go for the 2000 as it has been engineered for the past two years and is almost perfect (some might argue this) as opposed to a newer machine that isn't going to have the faults identified until its out there in the wild.

My CDJ-2000s are working perfectly for me after almost 3 years of ownership.  Very happy with them.

If and when a new model comes out, I am not sure whether or not I will upgrade.  Guess it depends on what the new model offers in terms of new features.

As for your question about what YOU should do, I think you need to decide what is more important.  Do you want to have the latest and greatest thing, but have to wait for it?  Or do you have a need for this type of media player today?

There will always be a new design when it comes to technology.  If we always to ourselves, "I'm going to wait for the new model" then we might miss out on the fun of owning the current model, and never do anything.

@Gavin- Point taken, I had no intention of starting rumors, but rather ask for an opinion of experts. I try to do my research and explore all avenues before I drop the money and go for an upgrade. As of now, I decided to wait until the end of the year with my deck upgrade.

@Pionix- Sure, I agree, however, hardware has its limits and can take software updates within those limits. CDJ2K is almost perfect in that sense, but new hardware will have potential to go further, and that is the reason I decided to wait for now.

@Fuse Promote- I have luxury of being happy with my current set up still, so I can wait for a few months. I get to work on CDJs when I play out anyway, so I guess I'm not missing out on the all the fun, :)))

Thanks for your input guys.

@Alen > If you are in the position of not wanting to update immediately then you can probably afford to wait - however, a new product could be announced tomorrow or in one years time. By the time that product comes out its fairly certain that work will probably already have started on the next unit. Products are always being developed / updated. It goes for all aspects of the electrical industry. Thats why we say if something fits your needs, buy now or you could be waiting some time for the next iteration that may or may not happen.
