[CLOSED] Audio Cut-Offs/Latency/Traktor 2
Hey,
I saw some issues regarding audio problems when using one's CDJ-350s and Traktor as the DJing software. I too have stumbled upon this issue which is that when playing a track, 1 or 2 minutes in, the audio will cut off and come back on or just remain silent for the duration of the track. I read on these forums that this might have to do with the latency.
Is this true? Is it the latency specs that I need to alter to make sure that I will not have any audio cutting off or track stopping in the middle of it's entirety during a played set? Or is it something else?

Traktor Pro 2.0 (What exact version, I am not sure about, how can I find that out?)
Uses DirectX 11.

Ultimately, you should have your latency settings adjusted so that there are no audio clicks, pops, cutouts or hiccups during playback. If the audio simply stops outright, there may be something else.
Are you using ASIO4ALL to aggregate the soundcards of the CDJ350s?

Don't know for sure, but I looked under Audio Setup tab in the Preferences of Traktor, and for Audio Device I have selected Pioneer CDJ ASIO. Sample rate at 44100Hz. The latency bar is all the way to the left with 256, and my processing and overall is 5.8ms.

So you only have one CDJ configured for audio output? You should try adjusting that latency setting -- try it around 2048 for starters and tweak from there.

And with the 2048 number, is that referring to the latency bar or the sample rate?

Given that your soundcard is Pioneer CDJ ASIO, I'm guessing you're not using the Pioneer aggregator and it's certainly not the ASIO4ALL soundcard.

@trancer because you are using pc and not mac you wont be using the agragater at all, what you need to do is...........
1, make sure they are conected via usb, which i would guess they are, but worth saying to be sure
2, switch on the cdj and put them into control mode
3, open tracktor, i dont know why but if you open tracktor before the cdjs are on and in control mode it fails to work
4, click file go to preferences, from the menu on the left choose audio setup.
5, look at the top it will say audio device, choose pioneer asio
6, from the left menu, click audio output,
7, choose mixing mode, external
8, for deck a choose CDJ 350 1&2
9, for deck b choose CDJ 350 3&4 (if the sound for the left deck is coming from the wrong side on your mixer then choose 3&4 for deck a and 1&2 for deck b)
10, test the software, if the sound cuts off then keep traktor open, but turn off the cdj's because you cant change the latency while they are on,
11, after turning off the cdj's go to file, preferences, audio setup, beside the latency there is a settings button, click it and increase the latency, and click ok
12, turn off traktor for setting to take effect, turn on cdjs again place in control mode, and re-open traktor repeat the latency increase as often as you need to resolve the problem

Thanks a lot, very nice checklist. How does one thought determine what is the appropriate latency and buffer size? As well as bit depth? I'll test out each deviation and post what works to stop the audio cut-offs.
