I didn't know that this issue persists on the CDJ-900 , But the problem is known from the CDJ-850 so i guess there should be an easy fix or you need to upgrade the firmware's to the latest version.

FollowProblem swapping back to CD when CDJ900 connected to Traktor?
Not sure if this is a message for Pioneer or Traktor forums.
Was out DJing last night at a club that had two CDJ900s (I think one had firmware 4.10 and the other 4.05 from memory).
The DJ before me was DJing using CDs and, I had no problem switching over to Link mode using standard HID to connect it through Traktor.
I got through my set, then when the next DJ went go on, he popped in one of his CDs to the deck that had stopped playing in Traktor - and although it showed the tracks, he was unable to get it to play.
The LINK button was still flashing and even though the track deck had finished playing we just couldn't get the CD to play.
The only option in the end was to turn the CDJ900 off (which unfortunately also crashed traktor) and reboot the CDJ.
When it started back up again, the CD played fine.
Is there something obvious that I was missing that I needed to switch it back over to CD mode for him, or should it have just worked when he put his CD in?

This sounds like user error - the track must be selected and LOADED in order for it to play. When the LINK button is blinking rapidly, it indicates that is the current source for the CDJ. The correct sequence would be to press the CD button, use the knob to select a track, then press the knob to load it.
Thanks Sammy - I'll give that a go.
Doesn't happen on my CDJ2000s at home, so bit of a disaster when it happened at the club.
Pulse - definitely not user error. Both the other DJ and myself tried to get it working without success.
CD was inserted. Click on CD "DISC" button, could see tracks on CD. Used rotary knob to scroll through them and then clicked to select.
But then click Play and nothing :(
Ejected CD and repeated
Link just keeps happily flashing even though the track wasn't playing in Traktor. We just couldn't get the CD to play.
As I said, I basically had to end up pulling the power plug on the CDJ and started it up again, and after that we could select the song without any problem (just happened to cause Traktor to crash when it was powered off, so there was a nice deathly silence in the club when that happened - LOL)
@Richard > Weird -- are you able to repeat the problem with the club's CDJ at all? I'll see if I can get my 900 to do it.
Hi!
Just played this night on a couple of CDJ-900 and Traktor DUO 1.2.7. It was my first time I haven't used timecode and tried to control DVS over HID.
It was ok to setup the hardware before the gig. CDJs audio outputs were aggregated to a single sound card with CDJ_Aggregator. (Doing it myself with the standard Apple's "Audio-Midi" application was a trick and I couldn't make that aggregated device to work in Traktor anyway.) Then players were set to HID mode. Got Traktor control and the sound. Done.
Swapping from USB control (HID) to USB/CD storage and back to Traktor without unplugging the cables worked good. Furthermore unplugging the USB cable from CDJ didn't hang Traktor. Of course that deck stopped but another connected was still playing - it's OK for another DJ to play on CD/USB flash after you. Even I closed Macbook to make it sleep and it kept to work after wake up.
The problem occurred when I closed Macbook and I left the setup for a DJ that played from CD before me. Coming back for my set , opened Macbook and found Traktor hanged. I unplugged the USB cables and Traktor showed his response again. Aggregated sound card still was in the device list but didn't work because CDjs were in CD mode. Looked like a "ghost" device. The only way to swap both CDJs and they audio to Traktor was to reset one that was playing CD track. It caused for a very uncomfortable silence until I quickly switch CJDs to HID and restart Traktor.
My thoughts through this story are that if you want to play in Traktor after someone on CD you should make your set up before and do not turn your laptop to a sleep mode (it looses aggregated audio). My humble request for the Pioneer DJs is to check this issue if possible and give some prompts about a such situation. How to make a lossless sound flow with two mixer channels and CDJs on them in case of swapping from CD to HID? Now it looks like it's not possible to turn CDJ to a HID mode and build all your connections in a booth without stop playing CD.
Waiting for your hints! They would be very appreciated.
I'm disappointed looking towards the next gig. It would be very bad to drop the silence on the dance floor. Don't like to go back to a timecode vinyl and external audio card with a lot of wires.
with best regards,
Alexey
