The CDJ2000 will continue to be supported as much as possible (within the limitations of the hardware).

FollowWill the old CDJ 2000 get a firmware update as well?
Yeah the title pretty much gives away what I want to know.
Will the old CDJ 2000 get some of the features of the 2000 nexus?

Hey Gav,
when can we expect the new firmware for the CDJ 2000?
Firmware v4.20 will be available around the end of October, which will enable the old players to "avoid certain feature restrictions when connecting via LAN".

There is a Notification For CDJ-2000/900 Owners near the bottom of the expandable features listing.
If it's like the DJM-2000, I did not expect to have updates.
<EDIT> @Smile-jg > Please read our Forum Rules & Regulations. <EDIT>
2000/900 update sounds like itll just allow you to connect to the new cdj 2000 nexus and share music but that'll be the extent of it probably
So if its within the limitations of the hardware, we can expect to see the large style waveforms on the screen?
@ Jonno: Who knows? My personal opinion is to not get too excited about seeing new Nexus features on the old model. It depends on the old hardware and also what view Pioneer takes on pushing existing users towards an upgrade
so rekordbox will analyse the key now, too. will we be able to see the keys on the 900/2000s, too? at the moment i am using 'mixed in key' + comment section
Rekordbox analyses key??? But not in the 1.6.2. !?! Or did I miss something?
"so rekordbox will analyse the key now, too. will we be able to see the keys on the 900/2000s, too? at the moment i am using 'mixed in key' + comment section"--Fabian Arndt
You don't half to use the comments section there is a key sorting option in rekordbox and on the CDJs you just half to turn it on
EX. you can first sort by genre and once inside your genre you can sort by key or sort a play list by key
I think that Pioneer should put some things from the nexus in the cdj 2000, for the guys who just bought them. Like the synq and the new things on the player ofcourse we cant get. But for the list of music with the pictures and the new wave form they can manage that thats just software so thats easy to fix like upgrading to windows 7 from vista. And maybe they can take care of the usb that it wil just work a litle bit faster and that if, you have some songs not with recordbox done. that is would make waveforms also ahead just like it does with cd's. thats someting i am realy missing.
i bought in july 2012 new pair of cdj 2000 and djm 900. So i am happy but if they can fix this. then they have made a good job i think.
I think the sync can not be made with the old cdj 2000 there is another hardware but we hope it comes
Hope also the Waveform comes to cdj 2000!!!
I just recently purchased two new cdj-2000s.. really hope there will be more support for it. all the clubs I know of in the area finally switched all over to CDJ-2000s this year lol.. so we have to wait for at least 5 years for the nexus models to pop up in the normal clubs ;)
i hope we get the new waveform in the older CDJ2000
I hope it too....but what says Pulse or Garvin?
Please question the Engineers thanks a lot
it will probably never happen.. but still it would be very decent from pioneer to release a final 5.0 firmware update which ensures best end user experience and compatibility with Rekordbox, it might be cool if they could implement some small things that was asked for a thousand times already but I am not sure this will happen judging past two years.. and for example the DJM-2000 update which a lot of us guys are still waiting for.
We will see
Highly doubt it! cant believe they keep bringing all these new products out yet still not fixed Rekordbox.
yeah i hope so too becouse we paid more then 1600 euro for each player. it should be realy strange if they wont put anything new from the cdj2000nexus on these players. We bought the most expensive cdplayer !!!
Yeah record box should work realy faster with scanning of the songs. it realy takes too long i think

@ Jack EDM
I don't know, if you seen it, but over the last year I've collected suggestions and issues for the DJM 2000 and put this together in a list! I shouldn't be at all surprised if all or most of them we will find in the new DJM 2000 instead of fixing it @ the existing one.
You ask why I've this assumption? Look at the CDJ 2000; all the issues we where discussing about the last years were fixed with the Nexus:
Auto Cue Load
Wave forms
Better Rekordbox support
"Start marker" of a bar
Key recognition
...
I'm afraid that I'll have to come back to this in 1-2 months! Don't get me wrong, nothing to hate, and technic has to go forward, but the existing gear still has much potential and most of the new functions are software made!
Oh, and I forgot: MT is improved as well, but this should really be a hardware problem!
Yeah I've seen it Xador.. all they did was make a new player out of the existing flaws in the 2000 range.. even if they could COULD make it work in the 2000s they probably did not because it would have destroyed there unique selling points for this model
My view is that if software could've fixed everything, Pioneer would've taken that option. The 2000s are 3 years old now - the technology within them is probably at least 4+ years old.
The Sync feature can not improve to the older Cdj 2000...
@ Mark90
I'm with you by the MT thing, this is a hardware problem (but I also wonder, why they do not implement a stronger unit, because be testing you can hear it easy and at this time there were a lot stronger DSPs or algorithmic units).
I'm not with you by wave form, auto cue and the whole quantize thing! Slip mode was already @ the 900s but not realized @ the 2000s, more accurate quantize is a software programming process as well as the covers.
The key feature or traffic light, how they call it, is, when I'm right informed, analyzed from Rekordbox, as well as the beat count and the phrase meter! so just added track informations to f.e. your usb drive.
Active loop is also a prepared feature from Rekordbox.
The only thing is wave forms, here is the question if the "cpu" from the 2000s is powerfull enough.
Think this can not be improved its Hardware limited
Hm, I'm not quite sure... Because the "actual" wave forms... weren't they calculated in Rekordbox, too? With CDs the player calculates them, but the question is, is it possible to implement this, or even for the Rekordbox stuff?
I too really hope we get wave form on the CDJ2000s mk1 (can't believe I have to say mk1 and mine are only 4 months old!)
Yes thats the Joke, many users buy new Cdj 2000(mk1)and spend a lot of money, and now comes the new out and for this older units, comes no new feature,we will see the Engineers would say:The Hardware from Mk1 is limited, the cpu is to slow etc...
Look at the gaps between the CDJ1000MK2, CDJ1000mk3, CDJ2000mk1 all relatively longish times... the CDJ2000mk2 has come too quickly IMO. Its a real same as I agree, there will no doubt be some cop out on why we can't have wave form but the truth is that is one of the main selling factors of the mk2 even though tis the same price as the mk1
to quickly? its been 3 years
