CDJ2000 NEXUS FREEZING ISSUE

Hi all,

sorry another bug to report using CDJ2000 Nexus and RB2.0.1. When using the decks via the pro dj link if I let the track play out on deck A after transitioning a track into deck B when I go back to RB to put a new track into deck A the CDJ shows now loading but nothing happens other than sometimes I get a waiting disk appear on the screen. To be clear the same issue occurs when in the reverse scenario, i.e. adding new record onto deck B once the previous has been left to run out.

The issue doesn't happen when you it cue to end the record finishing. The only way to resolve this is by switching the CDJ off then back on which is very annoying.

Anyone else encountered this ?

BriChi - Yes, that's pretty similar to what I've been experiencing. I'm just using the RCA's that came with the decks so maybe some digital coax cables will sort it out. I'll give that a try. Thanks for pointing me at that thread - it's much appreciated :-)

I use digital cables but experience strange levels.

I also tried some rca cables but it didn't help.

I dont know about you, but when Pioneer releases something, I tend to look at the product that it replaced. Finally, I can get it for less and by then almost all known issues would have been fixed (speaking of the CDJ-2000 mk1). I am thinking about getting a pair of CDJ-2000 mk1. There is no way I would go live with a brand new product off the shelf (CDJ-2000 Nexus) without through testing. I know how some companies think these days. It is all about making money and fixing problems when they arise. This is not enough.

I had freezing issues with the 2000 mk1, removing artwork from mp3s fixed the problem.

idk if i got lucky but I just received 2 of the new cdj2000 nexus decks and i have not experienced a single issue posted in this thread.  i received then on 26/11/2012 and i have had them on for 8+ hours with me and my friends rotating on the decks all using rekordbox and usb/sd(with rekordbox analyzed files). I hope i dont jinx my luck. also they came to me with firmware 1.02 and i quickly updated it to 1.04 and have had absolutely no freezing.

yuo are lucky, for now, issues are mainly when banging away at hot starts with mp3 files and MT on just so you know

i have my fingers crossed. i have even watched your vids and attempted to induce a freeze of the decks like you do with no "luck" so to speak. I am indeed disappointed at how long it has taken for pioneer to attempt to fix the issues that the majority seem to be having :/

Hi guys, i really feel your pain i really do.

1st of all you cant compare CDJ 2000 / Nxs with CDJ 1000, mk2,mk3, because its a whole new platform, both with the hardware and software (Rekordbox)

The Idea on paper is brilliant, but in truth a bit dim, not to say dark

I have never encountered any issues with pioneer products other than CDJ 800 wich i got replaced in a heartbeat, got really really good deal on CDJ 1000 instead, because of this bugnotice!

And of course my HDJ 2000 which seemed to be manufactured on another planet, cause they broke three times, included changeovers.

im really glad i did not jump the Nxs bandwagon, as im usally do, i did it with the CDJ 500 II Ltd, 500s, CDJ 800, CDJ 1000, CDJ 1000 mk3, DJM 500, 600, 800, 909 and so on.

For me this would have been a dealbreaker through and through, as i depend on the quality and stability of the gear im using, im no hotshot dj / producer with 6 CDJ 2000 / 3 DJM 900 / 2000 on stage, that i can grab if something goes wrong. i have two if im lucky, and a crappy mixer at times hahaha.

Its a real shame if they not get to the bottom of things, many guys stand in a crossroad of changing out their gear, should i go for a brand new Nxs or a computersolution?

Dangerous times boys, can loose alot of cash on a qwerk like this.

the more stuff you put into the hardware, the more could go wrong, thats electronics 101

What you can say is this, there will never be a more stable or solid platform then the CDJ 1000, i have friends still running these badboys without any problems what so ever:

I will not risk my own capital to be anyones testpilot, i dont have the time, effort or can afford several misshaps in a row, if it happen its hit the road jack and search för a new position!

I'll keep my fingers crossed that Pioneer solve the firmwareissue and remedy your headace!

Cheers

/Mdb

This thread has gone off topic... Its hard to read through everything people so please keep discussions specific to the topics in question.

Consider the Gab Bag your hangout zone where you can have discussions if you wish.

An update to the CDJ2000nexus coming soon should resolve the freezing issues.
