Can USB drive cause damage to CDJ caused by Virus

I heard that using USB drive (infected by Virus) rather than audio CD can damage the CDJ.

It also makes CDJ slower in respond (reading tracks, FF, etc) because those CDJ using processor which possible to get infected by virus from the USB stick or Drive (if there's a virus on it).

Is it true?

the technician in my club forbid me to use USB stick to our Pioneer CDJ 2000 because or that reason.

Please give me the info

Hi. I think that not leting you use a usb cause of danger to have a virus infect, is crap!! First of all you format the usb and you use RB to export the files to usb. Second, as far as I know there is no virus that infects music files. And third, the cdj doesn't have a Hard disk that allows you to copy files, so how is it possible to get infected by usb?? Weird stuff.

Do the technicians in your club let you play with HID mode and Laptop or is that gonna infect the cdjs too??

At worst part maybe the music files get damaged so at the end you won't be able to play them, but visus I don't think so.

I guess , I could infect an mp3 file with a "binder".

Though it's verry unlike any virus will work due the OS (Reason why Linux and Osx are almost virus free).

Though if the CDJ is based on Java , no it isn't...

This is just if you look from a verry far point and Why.... Why would you want to hack a CDJ....

Yeah but by "Hacking" I was like , Stealing tracks/data/keylogs and controlling them by internet/network connection.

I wouldn't see any use of that.

The "operating system" is pretty much a proprietary platform and it will not execute (or run) anything other than an audio file.  The only other file it will read is a firmware update file, but you have to force the player into update mode, and even if you were to hack the firmware file, you're more likely to brick the player than "infect" it.
