Having trouble setting up a network w/ new CDJ 2000NXS

So I have a basic modem setup and router connected to the cable modem via ethernet cable.  I'm having trouble setting up a wireless access point with an additional router connected to the CDJ's and my DJM 900nxs.  I have a couple questions.

1.  I had an Apple gift card to burn so I bought this wireless hub.. is this the type of router I need to get everything set up via wireless? (Airport Extreme Base Station)  link below:

1.  I've linked the two cdj's together but can't get the LED to turn red when the player is active.  I also can't even get sound to come into my headphones when plugged into the mixer.  I currently am waiting to get my studio monitors back so there are no inputs from any speakers in the back of my DJM 900 (was planning to just mess around and mix with my headphones until I got my speakers back).

I followed the directions and everything.. is there something obvious that I'm missing?  Sorry, I'm a bit slow with this kinda stuff.
