[SOLVED] Can I use Rekordbox on Mac and PC if storing on the same usb drive (FAT32 formatted)?

Hi all

sorry for my noob question lol - new to this way of working so just running into a few issues I need to work out.

All I want to know is if I can use my new FAT32 formatted USB drives (Corsair Survivor 32GB) to save everything I do in Rekordbox either on my Macbook or PC. I know I can use it with the PC but does it throw up problems if I try to save it from a Macbook pro?

All help welcome on this!

Theres one way to find out !  lol

plug it in and stand back

Seriously, though I have used the same hard drive on both PC and Macbook pro with no probs except that sometimes the MBP was slow to identify the external hd.  If it worked for an external hd it might be OK for a usb stick.

@Steve > Sorry, can we just back up a second - what are you trying to do exactly, whats your workflow? Why do you use two laptops?

Hi Gavin, sorry for the late reaction as I have been held up in the studio:)

Basically I have rekordbox on my macbook and on my pc laptop, the USB sticks are formatted on FAT32. Can I use them on both laptops without having to format them differently on the macbook to load/save tracks, start and cue points etc?

And if using just with the macbook do I still leave them formatted in FAT32 so the CDJ can read the data?

I know it sounds a bit dumb lol

@Steve > No, you'd be using two separate databases so its likely to cause problems.
