[SOLVED] Can you attach a keyboard to the CDJ 2000 Nexus?

Hi all,

Pardon my ignorance as I haven't read the manual but can you attach a keyboard to the CDJ2000 Nexus?

I want to bin off Serato as I am sick and tired of their lacklustre approach to getting HID in place. I do find searching for tracks on a computer so much easier though for having a keyboard and if this is possible with the Nexus then bye bye laptop and Serato! Why Serato spend so much time on mickey mouse units and not flagship ones is beyond me.

no unfortunately, I have been asking for that for years and still nothing, its the one thing stopping me from leaving the laptop at home. ou can however type in tracks on the needle strip if you can do that quick enough and get used to it. on the nexus you choose search off the root of the drive menu and a little alphabet keystrip comes up on the screen to type on

Ah shame, I tried on the unit itself and hated it. Looks like I can't retire the laptop just yet then!

Brichi,

What if you use your Ipad?

In a situation like this , we need the Ipad to search from the other connected devices!

The ipad is limited in storage... so if a hard drive is connected on deck B, you still would be able to perform a search with the Ipad connected on deck A.

Brichi has a other tropic running with this subject...

exactly! it's amazing how many people request the search feature to be easier and it keeps coming back to something I brought up a while back. Pionee, allow us to use the iPad to search a plugged in USB drive like you can do on the Aero PLEASE!!!!

Ive been Arguing this point since September, so disappointed the CDJ 2000 NEXUS - The PIONEER FLAGSHIP Industry model does NOT, have a fantastic feature its younger sister model (Aero) does. THIS HAS TO BE SORTED :@

The ability to plug a Ipad in one CDJ ... and either search a SD Card or other USB ...

If the Aero can, why the devil has this not been sorted out yet - TheOne & BriChi have made compelling cases for WHY this over site should be implemented.

Ive looked at the Android route in the mean time, thank you Pioneer, you have listened here in partially sorted the SD CARD ANDROID RB Issue with running tunes on the SD Card. Which means I can now use a exFAT ... SDXC 128GB - on my Android (with abit of modding to get around the RB issues with exFAT, and only exporting to FAT32) - Essentually - it means I can use a KEYBOARD ON THE ANDROID TO SEARCH FOR TUNES !!!

Your engineers listened.

Now please listen to this ... either allow the Ipad or Android to be plugged in, and search all other media devises on the Link (Lan connection) - or allow them via WIFI, personally the LAN OPTION is best - as the Nexus don't have WIFI Directly build in.

I just want a keyboard option - the Aero has it ... nearly 6 months later the NEXUS STILL DOES NOT !! Please sort this. My fingers are fat and its not practical to use the strip search. I press 2 or 3 letters at a time - and its a waste of time unless you have thin fingers or long finger nails of which I have neither ... PLEASE LISTEN. Thanks

also it's not just us, so many people I talk to who don't even know this forum exists mention the same thing how it would be nice to search via a real keyboard or iPad

I don't think we need arguments before it will be implemented.... It is obvious that this feature has a plus value for the nexus.

The question is when and WILL they bring this feature to the nexus?....

I don't know, seems to be pretty slow updates for a deck that stills needs some work and is not 100%,

I have forwarded your suggestions before and I will continue to do so. Please avoid copy and pasting the same issues in multiple threads.
