[SOLVED] Bugs with cdj 2000 nexus Start button is now looped !!! Platter no longer works !!!

Last night while playing I switched to vinyl mode played a few songs and switched back to cdj mode and now the platter will no longer scratch and the start pause button now loops when paused, the needle light blinks when paused and I can control the speed of the loop with the pitch control !!!  When I try scratching in cdj mode it only slows the tempo or speeds it up depending on which way I scratch.   I am using a MacBook pro with Rekordbox and the cdjs linked to it through a dlink and a rane empath mixer.  Is anyone else having this problem????    I called support and we rebooted it to factory standards and restarted and they both still are doing the same thing, Any suggestions ????

You can only scratch in vinyl mode, CDJ mode makes the platter all pitch bend, no scratching and turns the pause into a stutter for cueing. I can't believe support didn't tell you that or something was misunderstood. That's the way all cdjs work that have the vinyl/CDJ button.

this is the only video I could find in a comparison between VINYL and CDJ mode, its not english but you can see what is going on at 2:05 he is in vinyl mode (vinyl/cdj light is blue on right side of CDJ) and he can scratch with no issue at 3:10 he is now in CDJ mode, light on right side is green, not blue anymore, and you can see the platter now acts totally as a pitch bend on top and sides and hitting pause makes a stutter effect to cue more precisely

hope that helps

As brichi says, this is the way all cdjs operate - you can't scratch the jog in Cdj mode. It's normal behaviour and not a bug.

@Matthew > This is normal - its called Stutter Cue in CDJ mode and can be an effective method for facilitating beatmatching although it seems to be becoming a less popular one.
