[CLOSED] Closed/resolved topics

I could not find a beter place atm to post this.

I have been reading quite a few article threads which were closed for comments. However, it seems that a few of those were inadvertedly closed as the answers were not really stisfying -- like "why woud you want to do that" -- instead of 'yeps tat's a bug, we're going to fix this"  or "well known issue, won't fix" etc.

A lot of them are not actually solved so people will still want to discuss the topic at hand. More threads about the same topics are going to be made...

Nail on it's head and one of the reasons why I'd like to mention it.

I've seen bugs that are closed/resolved that actually are not solved at all.

I for instance have seen a thread that says -- if I do this and that, you see this, doesn't look right (and in fact isn't) -- followed by people who say "why would you do that". It's like going to the car dealer, tell that the supplemental restraint system doesn't work, as the error light is on. You then say -- ok what if i smash into another car? -- The dealers answers "why should you do that".

I do know that sometimes bugs are just annoyances. Sometimes, a bug will/may trigger a totally different thing later, on a different action.

On the other hand, I've seen that a few items seem to have picked up at the moment.

I for instance have quite some trouble in vinyl mode to search for  a cue point fast -- it starts to skip. The building of waveform -- there is a work around but that doesn't mean that it's not something to fix -- it might even show a totally different place where things may go wrong. Etc.

Note it's not criticism, just maybe one thing to take a closer look at to help us, the valued customer even better.

Yup, there is trouble with searching for a cue point efficiently in vinyl mode due to skipping. Yup, the waveforms are buggy. I don't get it. The words are in front of their face, but they go over their heads...or just avoiding the issues at hand. Now they've turned to closing/"resolving" every single topic...

Well closing a topic is OK if all questions/discussions are ended. Like "does it have leds or bulbs and replaceability". That's fine. But other issues ...

But Pioneer does not solve anything, the problems are clearly visible and everything just chant:

Engineer look at it. How do you set the USB key. etc

I'm tired.

for player I made enough money from the producers no

Microgenius, I do share your feelings for a bit.

being a system admin involved in systems to build/test software, I do recognize this -- It's not  alwas good -- and other makes also have their respective problems. But that doesn;t mean we should try to strive towayrds a mostly bugfree piece of software here.

And yes, if I look at the special cdj2000nexus set, with nexus mixer and the effects processor (forgot the name) for 7500 euro... I immediately get pain in my stomach...... not to mention that still problems will be in there and how are those fixed..?

The 850's I rate the same as the Gemini CDJ700 player -- much cheaper and more functionality. (also having bugs) -- build quality is almist the same.

Don't have much time next week but if time permits I'll see what items are open.

@Roeland > As I'm sure you'll appreciate, we've a lot of topics and questions to get through. We answer each and every thread as best we can and then  mark the topics as resolved or closed. If you see a topic marked as 'closed' its likely that the original poster of the question just never responded any more - we usually allow sufficient time for them to respond before declaring the topic inactive. If they still have issues and come back to us, we encourage users to open a new ticket and we'll start again.

On the back end, we create a list of items for the engineers to address that are raised by the users so nothing gets missed / overlooked.

@Gavin, I do understand the WOW here but to the outside world it at times gives a wrong signal -- as you've noticed here.

Further more, if someone finds a bug, doesn't answer in time, someone else could pick up the work to see if he or she can help you with the information. Bugzilla for instance has an option to reopen an issue and it doesn't seem to be misused.

If my energy level permits, I'll sift thru some of the items and respond/reopen.

Again -- happy that there is response and things done.

My USB Freeze issues thread was closed and nobody got back to me when they said they would.

Chris,

such same stuff I've been seeing. So far it seems that it's getting better nog. So what about reopening that one? What's the link? I will read it as well  then. Hard to read all stuff here ;-)

Maybe Gavin also can be of help.
