pioneer are starting to become a 'jack of all trades, master of none' unfortunately.
so many opportunities, yet so much fail.
I dont get this, I will speak for 90% of this forum by saying this is truly what frustrates soooooo many users. We spend near $6000 in gear for 2 nexus' and a DJM mixer, the app feature we want and should have we don't BUT this little R1 controller you guys come out with has a totally new app with awesome browsing and loading of track capabilities, so much cleaner looking and can search the usb drive plugged into the R1 yet we STILL cannot do this on decks a system that costs 6x the amount. Also, my idea of being able to just hit AB or C to set a hot cue was put into the R1 without having to hit REC yet they haven't added it to our decks. I hope a FW update adds this feature, been asking about this for years and again, a new toy released has this feature now.
Now we know why there are no updates for 4 months, they have them working on this app for yet another product released before the pro gear is 100%
will Pioneer make "Remotebox" work with the 2000 Nexus'? I installed it on the iPad just to see it quick and the "USB Browse" section is awesome, We need this on our decks! ashame the XDJ-R1 is track limited and the 2000Nexus is usb search limited. If only you guys could make this all work

exactly Phil!!! They need an ethernet port, ability to link your laptops RB library to it or at least be able to read more then 10,000 files from a usb drive. People get soooo much music nowadays and 25 year dj's like myself have hug library's, 10,000 tracks is a joke. My Promo Only library alone is over 9500 tracks
some of these things are glaringly obvious to us. shame we don't make the decisions!
In the video they say:
By using smart phones and tablets purely as remote control , you get all the benefits of the big screen browsing and fast keyboard search....
That is what we are saying from day one... being able to search other usb devices connected to the cdj.
When will this feature come to the cdj nexus ????
they are messing with us by showing this in a other model...
Amen to everything Bri as written !!
We NEED this on our decks!!! It would add allot of value to the cdj !!!
I'm disgusted ... I feel abused by Pioneer
If this comes to the Nexus then fair enough but if they release a new model cdj 2000 Mk3 ... this is following last years time line with the Aero in Summer & the Nexus in Sept.
I'll never buy another Pioneer product
The Remotebox is EVERY THING Recordbox should be ... but I think this could be a marketing exercise ... launch the new Midi controller, then role it out on the CDJs.
As I said, if we get it ... awesome ... if not ... well you have lost my custom
Agree 100% Spend over $6000 in equipment and the features are subpar to those of a $1000 controller. Remotebox should be available for the nexus decks. I was holding out for the R1 for a back up system to my nexus system. However the 10,000 song limit is a deal breaker.
Agreed.
Unfortunately we all know (in true pioneer style) , this will be added to the next cdj....
Agree with all of the above. It makes me wonder sometimes if anyone from pioneer actually reads our posts. Or when they ask us to complete surveys to improve CDJ's if they have an allterior motive as in let's put all these suggestions from the cdj feedback into our new product. If we get these features then brilliant but given the amount of money we spend on our equipment the least they could do is inform us the same time. To say I'm frustrated is an understatement.
I agree, if they cannot add a simple "search the attached usb" from the ipad to the nexus, i will be very disappointed. This is a feature that was on the Aero before the Nexus' were released and it should have benn incorporated in the Nexus' from day one. The RB app on iPhone is a mess and Remotebox looks and seems 1000 times better for a controller that bedroom dj's will use. Not fair to the pro's IMO
Has anyone ever attempted to 'jailbreak' a CDJ? Seems crazy to me that these systems can't be integrated - it's looking more and more like this is part of a broader marketing strategy to roll out new units. The more current they keep the existing Nexus, the lesser the perceived upgrade when a new player is released. Possible they've taken a page out of Apple's book on this one...
id 2nd this ...

You are playing with fire ...
not fair at all, they pissed a lot of people off with this
