[CLOSED] Update on CDJ 350 high BPM issue

Hi again, i would really like an update on the issue i previously posted about. http://forums.pioneerdj.com/entries/23754807--SOLVED-Rekordbox-BPM-counter-vs-CDJ-350-Counter

Gavin, do you have any information from your tech labs on this issue and if it will be resolved in a near future by a firmware update?

the players CAN and will display BPMs way above 180 IF the 0 point is below 180 and pitched above it.

as soon as the 0 point goes above 180 it reads flat out 180 as the 0 point (even though rekordbox says its 185 or 190 for example)

this is a huge dilemma for the hardcore scene and the harder styles of EDM.

Thanks again Gavin for looking in to this issue :)

The problem is that the vast majority of music is under 180 and most BPM detection engines are written to capture a certain range of BPMs (even Serato allows you to adjust the BPMs down as the typical default bottom-end is 80, but they allow you to drop it to 60, but that brings the top end of the range down by 20BPM as well).

My suggestion would be to put the true BPM of the track into another field (such as the comment) and use that for reference and your ears to mix.
