Provide as much detail of the issue here:

When I use either my 1TB Lacie or 750GB Samsung external USB drive with about 15k songs on it exported from RB, both formatted FAT32 and with no other files on it, loading takes quite some time, 5 seconds or so with [USB]. When using the [LINK] it can take longer. Searching also takes some time, 10+ seconds easy.

2x CDJ 2000 MK1

Tried direct link to each other, linked via DJM-2000, linked via a switch, different cables etc..

I have also tried it with my USB connected to my Macbook Pro with Rekordbox and LAN cable to the DJM. When is do this, loading is instantly, works like a charm. But I don't want to use my Mac, just external USB drive.

Is there anyone with the same experience? Is it because of the amount of tracks?

@Brichi: You have a lot of tracks too I noticed, can you tell me how you handle this and what your experiences are? Thanks!

Hey Mike- I've seen this with other fellow DJs happen quite a lot. Turns out their harddrives needed to be "defrag" not sure what tool on Mac can do it, but on PC it comes with all versions of Windows (after Windows 95). The problem was the harddrive took an extra few seconds to find the file and as a result the CDJ would get confused as to why the track wasn't available.

Try that out see if it works- I have a Transcend 1TB USB 3.0 that is dedicated to rekordbox and nothing else, defrag'd it once and never had lag issues with CDJ2000mk1 and CDJ2000nexus- we had another problem wiht CDJ2000nexus but that was fixed in a previous firmware update.

Yes problem noticed since the beginning of CDJ-2000 and still present on the nexus.

With LINK is much faster on any track.

Here are some answers Pioneer at the time (2008).

- Format with HP Format Tool 2 or 3 times before importing the files RKB.

- Book support usb only RKB

- For a collection of more than 5000 tracks delays may occur

- RKB tends to fragmented files so faie a regular defragmentation of the HDD. I recommend O & O Defrag is very effective
