[CLOSED] Migration from Native Instruments Traktor S4 to CDJ2000 and DJM900

Hi,

I experience several stability issues with Native Instruments Traktor. In addition the fader and knobs of my Traktor S4 Controller have less quality than buttons and knobs of a CDJ. So, I'm now in front of the decision of keeping my Traktor System and upgrade to the next release of S4 or switching back to Pioneer CDJ.

Before using Traktor I was using CDJ1000, 1st edition.

Now I do have a media library of about 30000 songs, even though I do not need all of them all the time. I just appreciate to be able searching songs as well as downloding songs ie from iTunes Store, Junodownload or Beatport while I'm playing in order to include the recently downloaded songs into my deck, as some party guests may request a special song.

Switching back to native CDJ and Recordbox raises the concern, that I lose the capability, as I have not read any information about sharing my entire library with a player. I consider switching back to Pioneer, as the hardware quality is simply superior compared to Native instruments rubber buttons. When I hit PLAY, the player just plays. When I hit the CUE button, the player goes straight to the CUE point, which is not assured with Traktor all the time, especially not with REMIX decks in Traktor. Losing the REMIX deck capability is not a huge deal, as I'm not using it too often in the night.

Can someone guide me to more information regarding access to a full library and adding songs on the go?

regards

@Jurgen > You could migrate to rekordbox very easily and keep your collection, the hotcues and other info you have stored in your Traktor library by using rekordbuddy to migrate your database. From there you can do one of two things ... 1) use rekordbox on the computer connected to the players via the LINK and effectively the computer becomes a large hard drive with a big screen, or 2) export content from rekordbox to USB drives or SD cards and do away with the laptop while you're gigging.

Maybe it is best for you to use both. Traktor and CDJs. The problem you have is related to the NI S4 and not to the software. Am i right?  Therefore you can use Traktor and the CDJs as a sound card and HID controller. Or if you got a DJM 900 you can use the DJM as a sound card an the CDJs with timecode.

Great suggestion. Right. It's basically the interface. I'll go to my music dealer of trust and will perform a test with Traktor and DJM/CDJ. Thanks!!
