[SOLVED] Can you "beat-jump" on the CDJ-2000 Nexus if your tracks are analyzed in Rekordbox

Can you "beat-jump" on the CDJ-2000 Nexus if your tracks are analyzed in Rekordbox? I am aware with the new version of rekordbox of the beat-jump feature, but is there a way to "beat-jump" live while playing a track on the CDJs, similar to the way you can on the physical program. This is the one feature that makes traktor a more superior choice to do live mixes with, because you can edit the phrasing and song position live. For example, is there a feature to skip 4, 8, 16, or 32 beats forward, quantized.

ADDITIONALLY… my second question is how do you turn off the feature that restarts your loop when you are adjusting the loop length. For example, when I drop a 4 beat loop, and i want to change it to a 8 beat loop without it restarting from the beginning of the loop, thus preventing the two tracks being mixed from jumping off beat. This is similar to the auto-cue function where when you press the cue button it begins playing from that cue, but i want to just be able to adjust the size of the loop without re-starting the loop.

Thanks, hope to hear back soon!

+++1 @pulse @gavin Yes would love to know as well if there is a way to utilize the loop feature with out restarting the loop. I just purchased my 2000 nexus recently and when using the loop I noticed it will restart the loop every time I shortened or extended the loop. I chalked it up as user error since I am just learning the system so I hope there is an answer to this.

@andrew currently there is no way to jump ahead quantized while the song is still being played. Hopefully with a firmware update pioneer would allow this feature on the current 2000 nexus. Since about four years ago I have emailed pioneer numerous times on implementing a feature I call "quantize needle jump" which would allow the user to jump at any point of the track while quantized to the nearest first down beat. Also with this feature the user could essentially use saved cue points and jump to any cue point while the track is still playing and it would be quantized. This is great to break apart a track for on the fly remixing and so many other possibilities such as quick mixing. I was surprised they didn't do it on the nexus since I pestered them since the regular cdj 2000 so please hit up pioneer let them know you want the "quantize needle jump" feature.

Both, not an answer to the beat jump feature (which I would certainly use a lot), but to stop the loop from restarting you should have quantise enabled. Works for me on latest firmware using regular loops.

The beatjump function is the only one reason why im still using Traktor instead of the 2000nexus. Is a "must be" for Pioneer to update it in the next firmware.

Jep also looking ahead for this function since 2 years within the cdj 2000 without nexus.

It couldn't be that big thing because the xdj 1000 does this wothout any harm.

why not patch this function to the regulary forward and backward buttons? This would be amazing.

So pioneer give us the opportunity as well as the lower price model like the xdj 1000 can use this function.

No; you can't beat-jump on the CDJ-2000 or CDJ-2000nexus, only the XDJ-1000 currently provides this ability.

Pioneer will not provide the ability to re-map buttons to perform other functions as that may inhibit the usability of the unit by other DJs who expect those buttons to perform their primary function.
