[SOLVED] XDJ USB PROBLEM...XDJ DISPLAY SAYS "EMPTY" >: (

The support video guy says, "Please back up any files on the device before formatting as they will be erased" with regards to formatting the USB.

Here is my issue.

I didn't know I had to erase and back up ALL my data.
This was advertised as "just plug in and play" , however I plugged in my USB and it the display reads "EMPTY"
I have used my external hard drive terabyte on CDJs with no such required formatting. So, why does the XDJ require me to "back up" the USB and erase everything I have?
In summation, does this mean I must buy a new external hard drive capable of holding my 100 + GBs of data ? ? ? ?

If true, I would like to express my frustration. I also produce music with Ableton and save those AIFF files on the same external hard drive I use with CDjs. This is a small step, but a rather cumbersome one. I would really appreciate the advice of an expert, as I am LIVING IN SOUTH KOREA AND FEW PEOPLE CAN SPEAK ENGLISH LET ALONE ANSWER TECHNICAL QUESTIONS ON XDJ AEROS! ! ! !

Pioneer players have ALWAYS required flash media to be formatted to FAT32 - that includes SD cards / USB sticks / external harddrives. If your media isn't formatted to FAT, the players won't be able to read the media from it.

If the USB is displaying as empty then either it is actually empty or it is not formatted correctly.

The XDJ doesn't require you to back up and erase everything. The video was simply making the point that if you had a USB stick that wasn't formatted to FAT and contained data, then you should back up the data, format the USB stick to FAT and then transfer the data back to the stick.
