Same problem with firmware 1.10.Pioneer exchanged my R1 but the new unit did the exact same thing.I have since returned it and Pioneer refunded me.Its a shame because i really enjoyed that model and all its features.Im using a different brand now but miss the easy use of the R1.Hopefully Pioneer will release an updated model of the R1 in the future, hopefully one without CD access so it can be smaller?

Follow[TICKETED] XDJ-R1 Freeze with High Pitch Sound
Hi
I have a new XDJ-R1 running 1.08, have not connected any devices, used USB input and CD input only. I have once output the sound into my computer.
Twice in 2 days the unit has completely stopped when tracks from the USB stick were playing on the deck, and yu get a high pitch screech, the only way to rectify is to turn off and on the unit.
Will updating to 1.09 resolve this? It really is a great piece of kit if it wouldnt freeze and just work. Disapointed there are still these issues.
Can someone help?

Are you sure it has nothing to do with not supported or encoded File - Formats?
What other brand are you using now?
All formats supported,it never stopped on the same track twice and all rekordbox analyzed on various usb drives to be sure.
Traktor S4 mk2
I guess it is no wonder.
Accessing a usb-connected hard drive via a WLAN connection with the xdj r 1: So you have to interfaces to get to your usb library. One of them is wireless.
How could such an architecture be stable. I am going now for an iPad Air + DJ Player App + i DJ Pro Numark. Same price and rock solid.
My question is supposed to be a mini-CDs that can be used with it? Because if midst and you can not play or issue, the problem may be.
Here is a video of a freezing episode just 30 minutes ago and please Pioneer don't give me troubleshooting tips, I have done them all, btw I'm at FW 1.10. http://youtu.be/Knu-ecO40OM
