Hi Rene,
I have tried to reproduce your findings, but when I do exactly as you describe I have no problem loading the right song. I'm using RekordBox 3.2 so you might try to upgrade RB and see if that makes any difference.
Regards,
Alex
I'm noticing an error with my new XDJ-RX unit. When using a rekordbox 3.0 synced usb drive the XDJ loads the wrong tracks when its sorting the music by the key option from the menu. For example I select the Cm key and it displays all songs with Cm as the key. Then I set the sort to BPM so I can see all the music in key Cm from lowest BMP to Highest. When I scroll down to a specific song and try to load in into a track a completely different song is loaded. Perhaps something for a firm update? Anyone else noticed this?
Regards Rene

Hi alex,
Thanks for your comment. Actually I am working with RB 3.2.0 and I also found that it only loads the wrong tracks in the harmonic key menu. (Please see the attached screenshot) It loads the correct files in Cm and the Cm, Eb lists but when i go to the Cm, Eb, Fm, Gm list and sort this list to BPM the tracks it loads is not the one I select. I got one deck playing a song while trying to load a new track into the other. Try it out it I think you'll find the exact same thing.

Rene
Rene,
This is a long shot from my side, but have you seen this thread: http://forums.pioneerdj.com/entries/58763799 Pulse is talking about a problem with the C notation. Might be worth looking into...
I tried the way you described both by selecting the track with the rotary selector and with the load button, without any problem.
If you think it would help and you feel comfortable with sending me one of your "problem files", i will try that specific file in my system. If so, don't change anything in the song (read tag), just put in on a download link for me and I will get back to you soon with my findings.

@Rene > Have you updated to rekordbox 3.2 and exported your database from there?
As @Alex notes, there is a glitch with the keys which the engineers will be addressing for the next update.
@Alex & @Pulse,
I"ve double checked, and i am using RB 3.2, I've exported the database again to the USB disk. In my opinion its not that the files are corrupt or anything its more like the XDJ gets confused after manually sorting the Harmonic Key Tracks to BPM. If I don't sort to BPM its not loading the wrong tracks but after I sort it to BPM it loads a different song instead of my selections in the browser.
For example if a playlist in the harmonic key menu consist of track 1,2,3,4,5 before sorting it to BPM, then when I sort it to BPM the order of tracks changes to lets say 2,4,1,3,5 thats okay because thats what sorting is for. But when I select the third track in the BPM sorted list (track 1) it loads track 3 because this is the third track in the original unsorted list.
I could make some screen shots from start to end if this helps?
Harmonics aside, does the unit load tracks properly all other times?
Yes it loads the tracks correctly all other times. Only in the harmonic keys menu when sorted to bpm it start loading wrong tracks. When i set the sort option back to default it works fine again
It's entirely possible that the loading of the wrong track is due to the glitch we're currently noticing with the key matching feature not correctly identifying certain tracks. I'll pass this along to the engineers. Let us know if you have any other info to share.
With harmonic key menu i mean Relative Key 2, wherr tracks in Dominant Key and Subdominant Key in addition to Relative Key are shown.
@Pulse, okay thanks for the support. I think the rx is a wonderfull machine and i'm really enjoying working on it. I hope my problem gets solved so the rx gets even beter.
@Pulse> Just to shed some lights on the situation where I don't have the same problem as Rene. As you probably know by now ;-) I'm not using the key notation from RekordBox, I'm using the Camelot notation. So it might be because of that, it works for me. Just a thought....
I'm sad to notice that the bugs of loading tracks in KEY mode are still here...not adressed in 1.50 firmware, any infos on this?
It's my understanding that this is partly rekordbox, partly RX. Fixes to come!
@Rene and Abbate> Have you tested the latest version of RB 3.2.1, they address the problem there
"Fixed an issue where RELATED TRACKS are not correctly selected when using Key as criteria."
.
I'm having the exact same problem with my new unit. Can we expect this to be addressed in a firmware update? I don't want to have to send the unit back.
@Matt > Have you updated to 1.50?
I updated both rexordbox and dj rx firmwares. At first glance the problem seemed to be resolved but after a few track loading it started to load different tracks again. Weird
@Rene > Try reformatting your export drive and then export your tracks to it again to see if it's simply a problem with the export database.
@Pulse,
I reformatted the USB drive and it did not change anything. after 3 songs it starts to load different tracks instead of the displayed ones. I noticed that this does not occur when using rekordbox link via UTP cable. So its probably a USB issue.
After reformatting, did you happen to name the drive the same as it was previously named?
Confirmed ; issue is still standing even on 1.50 firmware, wrong tracks are loaded in key even with Rekordbox update
@ABBATE > Did you try formatting and re-exporting tracks to the USB device with rekordbox 3.2.x?
@Pulse,
I formated the USB drive again today and changed the name to something else. Still loading the wrong tracks.
@Rene > Something is up with your database. Can you please send both your export.pdb database from the USB device and your master database from here:
Win 7/8: C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Pioneer\rekordbox
OSX: /Users/yourusername/Library/Pioneer/rekordbox
I have rekordbox version 3.2.1, firmware 1.50 and I have the same problem as Rene Roger. I am eager to solve this.
@a2n1 > Have you tried my suggestion of formatting the USB drive and re-exporting your tracks?
I am having this exact issue, as noted by my video and post higher up in the forums. Latest version of Rekordbox and XDJ firmware.
@CVH > Posted a reply on your issue to your thread; please don't cross-post.
You can delete that post, sorry. Issue still persists with the proposed solution. Is it still a bug in the firmware then?
@Pulse: When can we expect this update to solving this bug?
