Hrm... I'll put this to the engineers.
Hi Guys,
Please see the attached images (below).
I have had a Pioneer XDJ-RX for a few weeks and it's amazing! It's just what the industry needed, an all-in-one player / mixer.
However, today, the XDJ-RX has stopped showing me the beat grid display. Everything else still works, including showing the mini waveform below the time display. It's done this on two USB devices so far. It started out showing the beat grid on both devices. Very strange,
The two affected USB drives are:
The strangest thing is that I have an identical integral 32 GB USB stick and that one does show the beat grid. (at the moment).
I have also tried formatting and re-exporting and it makes not difference.
Lastly, when I plug both devices into my CDJ-2000s, the beat grid is shown.
Any help would be appreciated Pioneer guys?

Hrm... I'll put this to the engineers.
Looks like it lost the waveform data...I've seen this happen on Nexus decks when the thumb drive gets corrupted from yanking power without stopping the USB first. If you plug the USB into a computer (and do a scan) does it notify you that the drive is corrupted?
I'm really quite good. I never eject the drives without first stopping playing and then hitting the USB1 stop button and wait until the red light stops flashing.
I think you're right and it could have been a corruption issue.
On a side note: the manual is incorrect - this unit can have >10K tracks per USB drive. I have an SSD 256GB drive with 65GB and 11K track and it's working fine.
The operational limit is 10,000 songs, beyond that you may experience difficulties, lag and undesirable performance.
That's why I bought the Integral USB SSD Hard Drive. I had a 128GB USB stick and it was a bit laggy. But the SSD is like lightning.

check out how the drives are formatted, nowadays large usb flash drives comes in exfat. my ssd drive was working perfectly on my cdj 900 nexus, but when used on the rx, I started having(among others) the same issue you have. reformatting it in simple fat32 solved the problem.
I too have experienced a similar issue... however in my case the beat grids are there to start with and playing along ok until at a point in the track the beatgrid ends (stops and no more waveform) but the tracks still is playing fine etc.
I was going to post the issue but thought best to add here as its on similar gounds.
I noticed it while playing out so didn't get a chance to stop and test the tracks etc. Next time I will make a note of the tracks in question and do further testing once back home.
If you guys have had this problem, the engineers would like to inspect the export databases found on your USB drive(s). Could you please post them here?
Also, they'd like if you could post one or two of the problematic audio files which showed without beat grid.
I will sort that for you in the morning pulse.
I will upload a rar to my server with at least one track and the db file.
I have since found a video on my phone and uploaded to youtube but unlisted so use this link yo view it : https://youtu.be/9u_0FTqOwmQ
You may need to remove the s from http
You can see deck one is still playing but beat grid gone... it stopped about 1 or 2 mins.
Will test it all tomorrow and sort out files etc.
Ah, I see -- it's not that the beat grid disappeared, but the waveform itself is missing from that point to the end.
I'll await your database; don't forget that they're within the hidden Pioneer folder!
Im currently affected by the sky fibre outage across Essex in the UK it went down while I was uploading the rar with all this in... typical! So having to rely on my phone atm.
Will get it to you in the morning if my fibres back.
Upon investigating further the 2 mp3s ive found so far have been crap and no doubt the cause of the issue is them containing errors. That said i'll still include them in with the db files as it may go towards helping engineers etc.
The 1st mp3 the waveform and audio stop. This also happens in media player so file is currupt. https://youtu.be/WLGbIMw88HI
The second mp3 the waveform stops but audio carries on... also the time is displayed as 1min something in the info but when loaded the tracks is 7mins etc. In the video i show features still work ok. Testing in media player i can here a jitter at the point the waveform stops.... which is more then likely the cause. https://youtu.be/q3QVZg57Y8A
As i say i know its the crap mp3s that are causing the issue but will include them as it would be most helpful if rekord box could flag this kind of thing up... giving us the choice to ignore it or use a 3rd party program to fix it or better re download it.
Thanks again will upload when i can!!
Believe me, I'd love it to as well, but we've been told it won't be implemented.
I'll wait to get that database when you're back up to full speed! Thanks for the update.
@Craig > If you're still having problems, the engineers would like to get ahold of the export database from the USB device.
@David > The engineers are more interested in the problematic files rather than the export database, if you could please!
No problem... sorry for the delay will switch to my rekordbox pc and get that uploaded!
the 2 mp3s and some of the files off the drive... :)
Thanks - passing those along!
@David > Engineers inspected your tracks and it would appear that they are damaged, and thus wind up with errors. If you were to play those tracks on a CDJ-2000, the player would jump to the end of the track, but in the case of the RX, it simply shows no wave data.
@Craig > If you no longer require assistance with this issue, please let us know, otherwise the engineers would be happy to check your export database.
Thanks Pulse assumed as much. :)
Hi Guys,
This is no longer an issue for me. I completely reformatted my SSD drive and re-exported. All sorted.
