beatmatching xdj rx

Hi there, i have just purchased the xdi rx, and i must say it is a great controller. the only issue i have is that when trying to mix two songs, they do not stay in time, and even when in sync the first 10-16 beats are fine but then it will go out of time. could you explain why this is happening? am i doing something wrong?

Have you analyzed your files in Rekordbox?
This is most probably the reason.

thanks for commenting, but yes all the files are analysed in Rekordbox and then exported to a USB stick?

I can actually confirm the drifting. It started with the newest 1.8 update.

I think this should be addressed ASAP.
Not like in months, but in days or a week.

Just a side queston: is it possible to do a downgrade to 1.7? How?

For me it was always working perfectly.
I have updated firmware few days ago and actually playing it yesterday. Via Link.
I noticed drifting on almost all the tracks.
I also have new 4.0.2 Rekordbox and majority od files i was playing were analyzed with the new Rekordbox version. So i would not exclude the Rekordbox from investigation.

Anyhow, the problem is new and it really is there.

how do you update firmware to xdj rx for when they fix this issue? and will they look at the problem? or is it something we just have to put up with?

I too have beat matching slip out of place and seen the 'shimmering' waveforms.

Has anyone noticed that when you take a fader down to zero that the wave form also zooms in/out slightly?

The drifting occurred also before update 1.8. I started a topic about this a few months ago. What did help was not using master tempo anymore (google master tempo, CDJ and beat drifting). But unfortunately not always. I hope Pioneer fixes this issue asap.

thanks for the information but just a quick one, how do you put firmware onto the controller its self? does it have to be connected through LAN as when i tried usb it wouldn't come up in rekordbox and my mac doesn't have a LAN port.

It would be best for you to read firmware update instructions. They are on same download page as update files.

But anyways: unzip to USB root > put in rx usb1 > power on with special combination of buttons > rx will go into upgrade mode automatically and tell you to power down when finished. Done.

I've tried to replicate this using a variety of tracks at differing BPMs using combinations of sync, quantize, and Master Tempo and I'm not experiencing the problems you guys are describing. Even if I load the same track to each deck, it doesn't seem to have any problems.

If you can replicate it consistently with one (or two) tracks, I would first check those tracks for errors and then work from there.
