tempo range alters itself

The tempo range changes itself whilst in the mix using DDJ-RZ.
Is there anyway to lock it?
has anybody else had this issue?

If the difference was 20%, that's more than 16%, thus the next step up in the range options is WIDE. Even if you had one deck with 10% and the other to travel to the end of its range at 10%, the likelihood of you having that in the correct position for it to happen is slim. The system calculates the range at the most feasible option - WIDE.

It does a software pickup, so this still isn't a problem.

I have the same problem and i am using DDJ-RX with Rekordbox 4.1.2

ı was using traktor before DDJ-RX and i never had this problem [yes it becomes a problem for us :) ]

we are playing for long hours in clubs, and we love controllers becouse we don't have to care about eveything.

But this is something makes our work harder, we always have to check  if it changed to wide.

Please just give us a option to lock it.

Maybe it is not a "problem" but a lock will be very usefull to us.

Example
Just imagine you are playing a 95 bpm song in the other deck there is a 97 bpm song and sync is on and they both become 95.

than you decide to play a 128 bpm song, you put the song to the deck and than make sync off.

now it becomes wide and you have to change it again becouse you added the song before turning sync off.

if you forget to change it will stay wide and what if you try to lower your 128 bpm to 122 manually.

you win a worst dj award :)

please make our lifes easier, we already deal with drunk people etc...

thanks for reading.

I had this same problem today (DDJ-RZ and RekordBox 4.4.2 updated today).  Tracks were:

1. Thomas Bangalter - So much love to give (at +3.1%, 130.7bpm, Range +/-10)

2. Tori Amos - Professional Widow Cosmic Cottage Mix (at 0%, 130.7bpm, Range +/-10)

I'd been mixing for hours.  This actual mix was a minute in, and the cross fader was half way across, then BOOM, track 2 jumps to WIDE range and the mix is trashed).

I'm pretty sure there's an issue somewhere.

Yikes. Please post a video.

That hits close to home. I've been scared to move past 4.2.1 since that was the last stable version and i'm happily staying on it until they fix some of the issues that I've reported (eg. SYNC and quantize that rounds down to the prevous beat).

I too have a DDJ-RZ and don't often use Sync I tend to use 6% and the software never seems to switch to 10% unless I tell it to. Maybe this is a bug in 4.2.4. In any case, thanks for posting it here it lets others know about it.  But you should really send an inquiry to the rekordbox team since they dont usually monitor this forum.  The link is

Good luck and please post updates.

Experiencing the same problem with the DDJ-400 - not using sync, after choosing the right tempo on the pitch fader (128 for instance) a few seconds later the tempo changes to let's say 127,93 for some reason and stays that way. Which is really bad because I always freak out why are my songs out of sync when I just mixed them perfectly on my headphones. Not sure if it's a software issue or the pitch faders on the DDJ-400 are of really bad quality.

@Jerzy > Is it the value you've selected that changes or the song's detected tempo? Are you playing a song with a live drummer or a consistent electronic percussion? Was the track analysed in NORMAL or DYNAMIC mode?

@Pulse > the value I select changes, it does not always happen - sometimes when I select the value it stays that way for the whole track but too often it changes a few seconds after selecting the tempo and stays that way. It's not about the track's detected bpm.

@Pulse > mostly trance and house so it's consistent, normal mode while analysing -> but like I said, the issue is not about the bpm analysis, that works fine.
