Hello Angel and Ronald,

Would you please create an inquiry from the link below?
https://rekordbox.com/en/support/inquiry.php

Because the issues you two have look similar but in many cases they are not, we need to listen to each case including computers, OS, versions you use in order to sort out your problems.

Thank you very much for your kind understanding.

Best regards,
CRM, Pioneer DJ

oh btw... it does this error even without the external hard drive

so basically ...i try to start the software (double click on rekordbox icon) and a small window pops up that says "Unexpected application error"

i have the exact friggin problem. its driving me nuts! i need this software to work flawless! i tried the 'renaming-the-database-file-and-use-the-backup-trick' but it only worked like 2 times. now its crashing again all the time no matter what i do...

One thing to check is your graphics drivers, RB seems to rely heavily on your graphics driver for the interface.
I have seen this issue on a couple of my test laptops and everytime its been down to the video driver.
The typical thing I saw was the program would load the window, paint the bottom section then crash when painting the top section.
