Hi Boofather,
Sorry to say but pioneer is horrible when it comes to driver support, just look around the forum.
their are many of us that have been waiting for the company to release 64 bit drivers, and many of us dumped our equipment because it taking too long.
Honestly , seeing all the problems people are posting with the new drivers being released now scare me . so even if they do push out a driver i have no faith it will be stable for some time .
Rant: It seems that pioneer is more concerned with pushing out new products $$$$$ then they are with handling this issue .
welcome to the club srry

Ableton Live 9.5 64bit only
Hi I just receoved my Djm 900 nxs yesterday and havent opened the box yet. I was very shocked to read yesterday that AL9.5 wont work, The latest version of Ableton which i use for production is only in 64bit from now on. I also have a Win 10 64bit device & is there is any time frame that anyone has heard of about this issue being resolved. I have a few days to return the product so long as I dont open the boxed for that and the xdj 1000 and Im hoping I wont have to.
One article says Win 10 verified and another says still issues and causing system crashes so I would appreciate any insight about this issue.
Thx Boofather

Thanks Scott for your reply,
I got a shock yesterday reading the forum. One reason I choose such abig outlay was for the versatility and options that a 900nxs would bring to the table. It would not even dawn on me that the worlds foremost cutting edge pro equipment would be having such issues. I updated my win 10 device with everything that I read about but I too cant afford for my computer to crash when Im in the middle of productions etc. I never imagined that Al9.5 wouldnt run with a 900nxs. Lets hope that it is resolved soon I will wait a few more days before I return the equipment. I used the 900nxs & xdj1000 really enjoyed it & never thought about drivers and software not being up to date etc.
Thanks & Peace
@Scott > Sorry, but that's not true - developing 64bit drivers from scratch is not an easy or overnight task. The engineers working on those are not the engineer or product teams creating new products.
@Boofather > We are still waiting and Pioneer appreciates your patience while the drivers are completed.
Thanks Pulse for your reply. I will think about things but Im not sure how I can even setup things if the mixer doesnt even work with my o/s. Thanks Boo
@Pulse can we expect them in the new year sometime or before the end of the year can u please give us an honest ball park ? I think we all deserve at least that thanks
Michael.
@Pulse I am not trying to hate or start an argument but be fair if you reply to my post after reading it.
Pioneer does in fact suck in the software department. You can point out as you have through the years that the teams who work on new products are different then the teams who work on fixes.... But the fact of the matter is, it does not matter, not to the customers. Customers judge based on how they are treated. This is a trend that has gone on as long as I can remember and people like Boofather have a right to know (especially when they can return the products still).
If you look back to the issues that were raised with the DJM 2000 and its' firmware, how long did it take the Pioneer team to address them? Well over a year. Since then as Pioneer's technology evolved, Pioneer has failed repeatedly to address reported issues by their dedicated users. CDJ 2000 issues, CDJ 2000 NXS issues to mention as examples. To clarify, they failed repeatedly to address issues in a reasonable amount of time.
I write this not to point out that you are wrong but as a dedicated customer who is really hoping you guys listen and try to address this within the company. I have been saying this for years; mind you, not much has changed.
@Boofather: As a customer of 10+ years with Pioneer who currently owns 2 CDJ 2000 NXS, DJM 900 NXS, EFX 1000 and Rekordbox, I would like to kindly warn you, if what you do is a source of income and you can not tolerate a company that has been a couple of steps behind for at least a few years with no movement towards bettering it then you should reconsider keeping the Pioneer gear. If you're like me and you can just wait for an undisclosed period of time for issues to be resolved then keep it and I am sure you will enjoy it. Pioneer's product support will let you down and that is a fact that can be searched and proven right here (if posts haven't been deleted like they used to be). The staff here like Pulse are helpful and they do their best with the everyday stuff but as it appears, they do not have a big voice within the company or so it has appeared for years now. This forum is as much support as you will ever get from this company. Even the 800 number sends you here. A circle of failure at times, they send you here, here sends you there and so on.
I hope this helps provide you with some feedback as I believe I kept my emotions out of this and tried to stick to the facts.
Best of luck with your decision, whatever it may be.
Cheers
I wanted to make an example that I forgot to....
Imagine you buy a Smart TV and the software/firmware limits or makes that Smart TV not be used to its potential or as a smart tv at all. You are left with a dumb tv or traditional TV, but you paid top dollar for a up to date Smart TV.
This is exactly how Pioneer product owners feel at times. Our gear may work but not as advertised and price tagged, making it hard to justify the price point compared to the competition (if you are well informed of these issues prior to the purchase).
Thankyou so very much @Shain for your thoughts very appreciated & I understand where you are coming from. I know you are offering constructive thoughts & you certainly have raised some very valid issues & analogies. I do indeed produce music and If computers are crashing from firmware that is not 100% ready then that is something that is not ok no matter how good and enjoyable a product, programme or hardware maybe. Have a great day & thankyou so very much for your thoughts. I still havent opened the boxes yet Ive been very close though :) I have another system for mixing but the whiole point was to have something update, integrated, useful for my needs and actually usable now. Peace & Best Boofather
