Editing in sampler

How do you edit a track within sampler?

say I wanted to edit a track so that it played from 1 minute 05 seconds until 1 minute 10 seconds. What would be the best way of going about that?

also how do turn a sample off, i.e. If I press a sample but then want to stop it. I realise I can turn the volume down but it would be better if it were possible to switch it off.
