That would be my guess - there is an inherent latency between an input and output on any audio system, but it's especially noticeable when using lower quality audio devices whose latency will naturally be higher.
Hi there.
Got myself a SB2 wired back to the line in on my PC for sound output.
The problem I have is a slight delay in the cue headphones which makes mixing virtually impossible, I am wondering if it's because I am using the line in/mike input on my sound card(creative SB live). Although the delay is through the headphones which I would have thought if it was the SC it would be through my speakers which seem perfect !!
I have played around with everything I can think of but there's nothing obvious which would effect the output.
Any help would be great

I would try process of elimination.
First, try using a different set of speakers to see if the computer sound card is causing the problem. If you don't have a proper amp/speaker setup, you can also run your audio output into the audio input on your TV just while troubleshooting this problem.
If this solves the headphone delay problem, then we know the sound card is the culprit.
If not, we can move down the list.
Hi thanks for the reply, got it working by going into a separate amp and speakers, not ideal but hey it works, you would a £70 sound card would handle it.
Must be latency of some sort between serato and the sound card I guess,
