[CLOSED] Shrinking / Expanding Beatgrid on CDJ2000NXS

Are there any plans for this to be introduced in future firmware releases?

Has it been formally be requested / acknowledged?

@Paulm72 > What do you mean shrinking / expanding? I mean, I know you know you can zoom in and out of the waveform...

Sorry Gavin, I mean the ability to adjust the beatgrid to the waveform not zooming into view it as clearly this is already available. I know we can shift the grid left or right on the players but doing this may fix the grid at the beginning of the track but the end may be off. Actually shrinking the markers or expanding them would allow for a proper fix to the waveform.

Hope this makes sense

If it needs adjustment for quantize purposes. Meaning RB hasn't analysed totally accurately.

No comments on my request?

Anyone else agree ? Or is it possible and I'm blissfully unaware

Calling all NXS users - am I the only one who wants to be able to align the beatgrid via the CDJ?

Nobody else posting worries me that this already a feature and I'm being thick ....!

Please chime in - Phil, Brichi etc

honestly, I never pay too much attention to the beat grids, I don't use sync or quantize and do everything by ear for the most part so I never rely on beatgrids to make my loops, mix, etc.....

not saying that your idea is not a good one, I just have not chimed in too much being that I really don't use them

Hi BriChi, appreciate the response my friend. I know if not using the Sync feature or Quantize this is somewhat irrelevant. I like the idea of sync I have to be honest despite dj'ing for 20 years but I truly cannot be bothered going through 1000's of records in advance. For me the idea of either adjusting the beatgrid during link being active in the RB program itself as you select a track or to be able to properly adjust the grid on the deck would be fantastic. I was just wondering whether my theory of the grid adjustment on the deck was simply a shift of the grid and not a a full adjustment of it

hi paul - i just think the whole beatgridding accuracy needs to be improved, both in rekordbox and the player itself.

i just don't find it accurate enough for sync purposes compared to traktor or ableton - it's too difficult to accurately set the grid and it often sounds a bit out of time and a lot of tracks need adjustment. this was from just testing around 50 tracks to have a bit of fun / try out the sync function and i haven't really bothered with it since as it didn't sound tight enough. the zoom to the waveform isn't nearly good enough to be precise in my opinion.

the iphone app is just as useless too when it comes to beatgridding. native instruments have done a far better job with the beatgridding experience with both traktor and their new ipad app.

Guys, thanks for your discussion on this. I'm going to present your arguments to the engineers as product ideas / suggestions / potential updates and let them know what you think is currently lacking.
