[CLOSED] Xdj R1 10k track limit

So I am a mobile Dj with a collection in excess of 20k tracks , I was really looking forward to the arrival of my new R1 , after several days analyzing my collection in rekord box , I then waited patently to export them to an external drive ( I have no intention of using vdj or laptop etc ) my plan was to use the remotebox app , but now I'm am devastated to discover my purchase is a waste of money and is does not suit my needs ... Why have this limit .. do pioneer have any plans to increase this or should I sell my new machine ? Advice or suggestions please .. again I will not be using a laptop and would find it impossible to break my collection down to 10k as I dj at many different events where I could be asked to play all sorts !!

Yeah that's what is worrying and being a mobile dj as soon as you add new releases you would have gone over the limit again. I really hope there is no limit or another way around it.

@Kevin .. I can confirm the XDJR1 can not read a hard drive containg more than 10k tracks .. Once you analyze and try create a Rekordbox database for use in the R1 (which took me over 4 days ) when i then went to save the data base for use with the R1 i got a error message " Cant create database of more than 10k files " this is also confirmed in the user manual   http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/ephox/StaticFiles/Manuals/DJ/XDJ-R1_OperatingInstructions052213.pdf

See page 5 of above link . A big pity .. and i see the XDJR1 is now being targeted at the "Home Dj" not the mobile dj as previously advertised and recommended on Pioneers walk through you tube clips .

Hi Gregg,

Thanks a lot for your reply I really appreciate it. That is a big big shame as this was perfect for what I wanted. I wonder if there will be any alternatives anytime soon?

Thanks again
