[CLOSED] XDJ R1 - PIONEER You dropped the ball on this one!
I have to say I was very excited to see a controller with rekordbox ability.. So much that I sold my WORKING equipment to purchase this device.. WOW! If I would have only read these forums first ... I am totally screwed.. I DONT HAVE WORKING EQUIPMENT ... within the first 2 songs I had major problems.. the device CONSTANTLY freezes ... randomly doubles a beat .... it DOESNT display any of the categories I have picked.. the list goes on... AND i know how to use REKORDBOX.. I use cdj 2000s in a lot of shows .. PIONEER I am very disappointed... I bought this from AGIPRODJ and they only take exchange... that means i can only exchange the device for another non working device..
I was really looking forward to posting a review on website.. one of the LARGEST DJ Communities / sites online and unfortunately I dont have anything good to say about this device...
I know sometimes new products have errors.. but come on.. this many? It doesnt even work slightly.,,, its not even usable to wing it.. and after reading these forums... did u guys even turn the device on??? I cant even discover some of the issues the other guys are having as the device wont even last that long... PLEASE FIGURE THIS OUT!! I HAD high hopes on this device and now im stuck with something I CANT USE! I cant even take gigs.. I SOLD MY EQUIPMENT by putting my faith in your brand..

I am also in the same boat. If u can only exchange it (as I can too) I would opt for the aero. I've successfully used it for djing 5-6 nights a week before. It works...I'll be going back to it.

1.04 will allow you to play on it but there are many glitches
I did use mp3 files not analyzed by Rekordbox with no issues. The issue is [RETAILER] has their AERO priced conveniently way too high.
Probably to cash in on all our returns...errgh.

Maybe you can ask them to price match, I was also considering the Aero even before the R1 came out but the price at that time was $1199 which I thought was way overpriced for the feature set it offered, $999 is more palatable, just don't understand why the R1 is so problematic when the Aero just works as you said, it's basically the same device sans wireless loading of tracks from a mobile device, the unit may be having issues processing all the Rekordbox info in each track, I tried the R1 with VDJ last night with same files and there were no issues at all with looping or BPM drifting, and the sound quality was also much improved.

A class action suit should be considered against Pioneer by all the people that are out the money they spent for an unusable machine.

it is nice to have a controller that promised everything and not be able to be ready to use! especially those who work 6 nights a week and had chosen this to work, I'm stuck and does not communicate even a pioneer approsimativa date of release of the firmware! I'm angry

I already updated my XDJ - R1 to 1.04. Since then no problems of the system freezing or what so ever.

My main reason for buying the R1 was the use of Rekordbox.. to me it made sense to use at home to prepare my tracks for when I play on cdj 2000s and such in larger events... but to also use on my weekly smaller gigs.. Rekordbox seems to be the problem.. the idea was to be able to leave the laptop at home.. guess that was wishful thinking.. now in the mean time i have to revery to Virtual DJ.. cant even use traktor or Serato... hope this gets fixed ASAP.. and like others.. my sound quality is better when using it as a midi with Virtual DJ... I tried updating to .04. but still the device freezes and i get doubled drum beats ... PLEASE PIONEER!! FIX THIS!!!

@Sevan Kambel > You can use the XDJ-Aero tsi file from Pioneer for the R1 to use with Traktor with some hardware/software limitations however, I also agree sound quality is much improved when used with VDJ and Traktor.

ciao Francesco se vuoi che la xdj-r1 non ti lascia a piedi in un dj live che esegui le sere converti tutti i tuoi brani in formato ACC e vedrai che non si blocca mentre suoni,e speriamo che Pioneer corra subito ai ripari con un aggiornamento,io ho fatto in questo modo e per adesso non si è mai bloccata,ciao Max

i just got my R1 today and the only issue i had was the freezing randomly, and its usually when i put the usb stick to use. I haven't tried using rekordbox yet, but from all these other comments, I think its safe to say that won't work lol
