Pioneer DDJ-RZ and Rekordbox software

Hello everyone. I got my New DDJ RZ in late October. Fell in Love with the New Software and Controller But Notice and bunch of Clitches.

1. The Wave Form is not consisted when you are viewing it up on the GUI. Looks like it hesitate and not as steady like Serato.

2. When my guest DJ's come in with there flash drive there is no way to drop their files in my playlist like i used to do with Serato. I have to go to my Music folder using Finder then when i drop there music folder in the Rekordbox playlist I get this nasty Crackling sound like the system wants to crash. Boy is that embarrassing.  Especially when I'm live in the air using Mixlr.

Other than those Clitches I really like the new software. I know it's not perfect but hoping Pioneer can come up with new updates to fix these dam bugs I'm having.

Is any one else having these issue and if so can you tell me if there is a fix for me?

Thanks

Ricardo Cortez

The display may not render smoothly depending on your computer's abilities. Try lowering the waveform rendering to MEDIUM in the rekordbox preferences to see if it makes a difference.

As for guest DJs, export USB drives are meant to be connected to devices, not rekordbox computers. Even if a guest DJ brought his rekordbox library on an external drive, he'd then have to load his library, which can not happen simultaneously to having your library loaded. When you drag-and-drop their content into your collection, your computer is analysing the track, which is taking away CPU cycles from the performance, which leads to crackling. Either don't import during playback or increase your buffer to reduce the likelihood of audio dropouts.

The wave form should be consistent,  could be your graphic set-up or in the preferences the waveform display setting.  Noise on adding tracks, is it when the tracks are loaded in for playback?  Their music database needs to be stored on their drive so when they plug into your computer Rekordbox would see the drive as theirs.

I pointed out the 'choppy' waveforms a month or two ago  Keiko (from Pioneer) was helpful and we came to the conclusion that this is just how it is.

I agree, it's not as smooth as Traktor and Serato (use both).  I spent some time scouring youtube and everyone's display is like this, not just me (or you).  Even some of the Pioneer endorsed sets that show the waveform show that it is a little 'choppy' and the scrolling is not super silky smooth. Hopefully this will be addressed in the future..
