Random Emergency Loop

Personally, I use the SanDisk Extreme Pro or Corsair Flash Voyager GTX USB drives as both of them have SSD controller chipsets to manage the memory for amazing read/write performance. They are certainly more pricey, but that cost is well worth not waiting around to export music to the device. I have never had problems using either of these drives in any Pioneer DJ unit, both of them with over 10,000 songs.

If you're going to that price point, you may also want to consider the Glyph ATOM, and the Samsung T3, two reasonably small but ridiculously fast mSATA-based SSD drives.

Emergency Loop would be activated if you removed your USB drive or if it lost connection. It's not something you manually activate.

Quick Update:

Tracks that go into emergency loop mode, tend to play ok when they're not coming from a playlist I've created. If I play a track from the artist folder, it's fine, if i play the same track from a playlist I've made in Rekordbox then it goes into emergency loop mode

Emergency Loop is a sort of automatic workaround not to stop tracks playing during a gig when some critical problems occur.

Engineers would like to know exactly what triggered emergency loop.
What did you do just before emergency loop began?
What kind of file were you playing?
What buttons, knobs or jog wheels did you touch?

If you can replicate this problem at will, that kind of information would be a great help for engineers to find the root cause of this issue.

Please include as much detail as possible.  Thank you.

Please don't tell me you have to re-analyse your tracks when a new Rekordbox version is released?  I've spent WEEKS (MONTHS?) on analyzing 70's and 80's music (not beatgridding correctly as EDM does automatically).  I'm almost ready "locking" all my tracks where I've adjusted beatgrids manually.

has this been solved somehow? it started to happen recently for me too, before that everything was ok for half a year. I get emergency loop usually once per night, on player which has usb in it (other player can access usb via link with no problem, even when first is in emergency loop mode). When emergency loop is on, i cant operate player at all, no touch button works, except tag menu, but it shows nothing but spinning wheel. I use the same usb as before, same setup, same cables same everything which worked fine for half a year. I cant replicate problem at will, it happens very random, sometimes when the song is playing, other time when song finished playing, often when im working on other player and not even touching the player with error.

What is the make / model of the USB drive and which firmware version do you have on the XDJ-1000?

It's sandisk ultra fit 128gb, and the latest firmware installed. When player freeze the usb drive is accessible from other player with no problems, so i doubt that is usb drive fault, i also reformatted it and usb drive worked fine from february till now. And the player which freezes is always the same, other works fine.

Nothing? .. This week i tried to put usb in other player than ussual, and everything was fine, and other day i put it back to the one causing issues, and the issue was back... Maybe it's just luck that it didnt happened with other player but just to let you know .. 

It could be a fault with the player which requires servicing. If it continues, consider contacting technical support.

Pulse are there any flash drives which you can recommend? 128gb+
I'll try to reformat it to fat32 instead of hfs

PS: I doubt its the players fault since it started to happen on both players to go into "wait mode", seems like after update to fw ver. 1.10 this happens even more often (4times last night) .. player which freezes is always the player with loaded usb, and the stick is pretty hot, is there any heat sensors or something? .. its strange that usb is always accessible via link to other player  

Bringing this thread to back to life.... has anyone reached out to tech support with any success on this issue? I have been experiencing loop mode as well as files showing unsupported when they have been confirmed in Rekordbox as a supported file, slow loading times, etc. Always on latest firmware for both the equipment and rekordbox. I believe that I am past the warranty period at this point and not sure what options are available. Thanks for the help!

This has just happened to me when playing through the xdj-rx with the mac link so it wasn't a memory stick. I had to reset the pioneer by switching on and off, not great with several hundred punters

Thats it happened 3 times tonight , once i managed to play from the memory stick, the other 2 times the whole thing froze and i had to switch off and on again. All tracks are analysed . the rRX has worked fine for 6 or 7 months from new in this mode this is the first time i have had a problem and it was serious, twice we had no music in the club when it was re booted .

I'm experiencing the same problems, so does my best friend with his XDJ1000.
We're both using 2 XDJ1000 MK1, latest FW Version. 
Players are used as "home only" devices, so we have linked them to our Home networks and use only DJ Link.

No USB Sticks are used.
From time to time it happens that a random player hits emergency loop. Pretty anoying during a radio show...

The only way to fix this problem during a running Radioshow is to switch to Turntables, turn all players off, shut down Rekordox, unplugg network cable, turn players on (without cable), turn players off, plug LAN Cable back in, restart Rekordbox, establish link and hope it's working again...

If not, retry above mentioned ways untill working again...

will there be a FW Update or is there any other solution?
I've tried everything possible from my side... changed network cables, unpluged USB Sticks and used them as network players only and so on...Problem still persists

Are you using one computer or two?

Have you tried connecting it directly to one player and if so, does the error occur in that configuration?

Do you have your firewall completely disabled or have you configured rules to allow the rekordbox traffic?

I am using one Computer. Direct Signal from Computer to DJM2000, but I've also tried to connect a single Player directly to my PC, and I've also tried both Network Adapters (my Mainboard owns 2). It took a bit time, but after several tracks the emergency Loop happened again.
I've tried Setting a rule in my Firewall, but due to the fact that, no matter how often I set/check the rules in the Firewall, tracks are not loaded to the Players, I have permanently disabled the Firewall.

yes, filesharing is not enabled, and I haven't changed any Services in Windows except the Windows Firewall.
I haven't changed any Settings in General. The Problems appeared the first time after I have updated to Version 4.

This happened to me last night as well. Here's what I'm using:

2x XDJ 1000 MK2 (Latest Firmware & Linked with Included network cable)

2x Sandisk Ultra USB 3.0 128GB

Players 1 is Left and Player 2 is Right

- 1st Incident, Player 2, USB Source ???

I saw that the emergency loop was engaged randomly and just hit loop exit and all was fine

- 2nd Incident, Player 2, USB Source Player 2 (happened within 5-10 mins of the first)

emergency loop randomly engaged again, this time i hit loop exit and I got a high pitch noise, not sure if it was a 64/1 loop engaged or just noise.

After the incident I tried to load another song onto player 2 from the USB plugged into player 2. I was unable to load a track. Then I tried to load a song from player 1's USB and was again unable to load (i was still able to traverse the folders). 

I preceeded to try and eject the flash drive from player 2, hoping i could just plug it in and it would work again. The usb light was stuck at the faster flashing sequence (the one right before it gives you the blue light that its ok to pull out) the drive never ejected and stayed flashing. 

I had to completely restart my player, I had no more incidents after this.

Also another tidbit of info that may help your engineers;

Prior to the gig I ran my thumb drives thru record box. Copied over cues from both thumbdrives, then copied over new songs and playlists. Player 2's USB drive did get more music loaded onto it instead of player 1's.

Same thing happening to me for a while now, xdj 1000 mk1, random emergency loops on different occasions, different usb drives, different libraries, totally random .. still didnt figured out why

This is what happened yesterday during my 5hrs Radioshow...

at least 10 emergency Loops! luckyly I was able to see when the emergency Loop was about to happen.
Whenever I wanted to have detailed Information about the current track, the only thing that was displayed was this stupid "loading" circle @Ziga mentioned a few weeks ago...

When the emergency Loop happened I was also able to "kill" the emergency Loop by pressing "Loop Exit" several times and the track could be played till the end and I was able to Switch to Vinyls again, turn off the XDJs, shut down rekordbox and bringing it back up again a few mins later...

Very frustrating. It only happens with the XDJ 1000 MK1...I have tested it with CDJ900, CDJ2000 and CDJ2000NXS, with these Players and the same Computer Hardware and cables used for the xdjs it is NOT Happening.

I hope a solution will be provided soon...otherwise I am forced to send the Players back or sell them (what I dont want to).

With these returning emergency lopps I am unable to provide the needed Quality on or streams :/
