@Julia > Does this happen if you're not using the Focusrite as your audio interface? Or if you're using rekordbox 4.0.2?
Mac OS X 10.10.5, rb 4.0.1, audio Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, computer iMac 27 late 2012.
When I load in the deck files that have some sound before the first beat rb crashes regularly. This happens always if I had loaded other files before. Normally I can load the file that creates the problem only if it's the first file I load after starting rb.
The files were all already analyzed in the past either with rb 2 or traktor+rekordbuddy.
The files don't have any errors when checked with mp3 scan+repair.
Here a picture of the waveform to clarify what I mean http://it.tinypic.com/r/unevq/9.
When files are like this rb crashes pretty much regularly.

I tried unplugging the Focusrite interface and indeed it did not happen, and when I used again the Focusrite it happened again. I'd say that it's pretty much related to this audio interface then
I tested with 4.0.1 because I removed 4.0.2 for the metronome bug.
If you want I can send the dump, when rb crashes a Finder folder called "Crashes" pops up and contains the dumps.
If you want a song for testing, this one crashes consistently rb if it's not the first to be loaded https://pro.beatport.com/track/in-the-factory-original-mix/5581725
Also, after switching to the internal interface the metronome did not want to tick when activated, it took me a while loading a few tracks in the deck before it started ticking again.
bug with Focusrite scarlett 2i2 is still there in 4.0.3
@Julia > What is the sample / bit rate set to for the Focusrite?
I see in the audio&midi configuration 48 kHz and 24bit. Never touched that, so I guess it's the Scarlett's default configuration.
Rb goes automatically to 48 kHz when I pick the Scarlett as audio device.
Now I realized that the bug forces me to load the track 3 times before I can use it.
1. first load after some tracks were played, play -> crash
2. load after restarting rb, play -> crash
3. load again after restarting rb, play -> it works
It's pretty much consistent. Every time I have a crash I need to restart rb two times.
