64GB USB issues with the XDJ Aero?

Hi everyone,

Could do with a bit of help..

I've looked through other threads regarding USB sticks and XDJ products/2000 issues and nothing is relating to my exact problem (or not that I could find anyway), so I've come to the conclusion I should do my own post. Apologies if there is a post about this already.

Right, I've just bought some bog standard Kingston DTSE9 64GB USBs, I've used the Kingston Datatravler 16GB sticks with no drama for the last couple of years on my Aero and on the 2000's while playing out, I've also used 32b sticks and various other sticks in the Aero and never had this issue.

I've formatted the new sticks to MS-DOS and stuck a couple of tracks on them and plugged them in to the Aero and nothing, doesn't register them, little light doesn't flash, nothing. I've rattled around on the internet and seen there is some issues with sticks above 32GB but all the posts about this seem to be pre 2013, so I would have assumed if there was an issue it would have be sorted out with a firmware update (I have the latest firmware update)... But it appears not, any advice? ideas on how to get it sorted?

Any help would be awesome, if there is no fix I will return the USB sticks.

Thanks

there's not a problem to use 64GB sticks! I use 64GB sandisk (USB 3.0, the small ones) and they do their work really good. importand format the stick to FAT32 only! I use a small software names fat32formatter 1.1 from tokiwa (google please) the same does the HP fat32 formatter.

The drives have to be FAT32 formatted, I personally recommend formatting drives 2-3 times.  Why, cause it seems to stick better and I have been doing it that way for 9 years without incident...

Hi Guys,

Cheers for the replies,

MS-DOS is FAT32, I'm on MAC not PC, I've formatted the drives 4 times, still no joy.. I'm wondering if there is a hidden partition on the drives that I cant get rid of?

Thanks
