Go to Rekordbox Preferences and be sure the DDJ-RZ is selected: (this image shows a SZ is connected)

ddj-rz won't control rekordbox, please help
hi
i have just unpacked my ddi-rz and cannot get it to work with recordbox at all.
i previously had a ddi-sx and had downloaded the trial to have a play and all worked great.
but since plugging in the rz it won't control rekordbox at all. I've tried deleting everything pioneer i can find on the computer and re downloading both the rekordbox software and the ddi-rz driver with no luck
the computer sees the ddi and says connected in the setting utility but on opening rekordbox none of the controls work.
i am on a macbook pro on osx mavericks 10.9.5

If you scroll to the bottom of that AUDIO window, what do you see in the Control Device Information section?

Have you changed the MIDI setting mode for the RZ? See the owner's manual on page 24 to switch the MIDI mode.
If that doesn't work, download the driver again, but run the uninstaller first. Reboot your computer, then run the installer and reboot after. Then start rekordbox, finally, connect your RZ.

upgraded to yosemite on the laptop, unistalled drivers and reinstalled restarted computer and started rekordbox the ddj and still no control at all.
tried the midi setting mode with no change. what setting mode should it be in?
now have pioneer ddj-rz midi device in device information section.
