I would suspect that you have a MIDI mapping left over from something that is causing that to happen. Check your MIDI settings in Serato to see if any exist, or disable the settings for remap.

I restored the midi mapping to default & disabled the option to allow serato hardware remapping and disabled the enable output lighting. Same thing is happening!
This is making this mixer un-usable! Pioneer please respond!
BTW, upon further testing I have to move the channel fader from the bottom all the way to the top. If the fader is at a few millimeters from the bottom position then I move the fader up it doesn't trigger the cue button.
PLEASE HELP PIONEER!
Hmm, I've passed this one to the product team for a bit more info, if it's not a MIDI trigger in Serato, I'm confused as well!
Can you give me details as to which operating system, which version of Serato, which S9 driver you have installed?
mac os 10.9.5
serato dj 1.8.1
djm version 1.06
BTW I noticed that If I hold down the shift button on the S9 and use the upfaders up and down it does not trigger the cue point behavior as described.
So I just set the pad mode to saved loop and when I move the fader up & down on the right channel. It is turning the 8th loop on/off. So the up and down fader motion seems to be triggering the 8th performance pad. So if I am in hot cue mode it will create cues untill there is an 8th cue point. then it will just continually trigger the 8th cue point.
go into the serato midi panel for loading mappings. choose new. do not map it.
should solve the problem.
i had the same problem with the left upfader starting the right channel when i raised the left line fader with my existing mapping(which was for a native instruments x1).
i remapped my midi device but left out cues and rotary scrolling for library and loops(its on the mixer) and its fine.
@chorizo > Does @feezy's solution work for you?
No it didn't change anything for me. moving the fader up & down is still triggering the 8th pad.
Im starting to think this is a hardware issue specific to my mixer. What's next?
Any help on this?
By the way I installed serato dj 1.8.1 on a mac with os 10.11.1 and the same thing keeps happening when I use the other computer as well.
@chorizo > Sorry, still waiting to hear from our engineers.
Ok thank you Pulse. I am starting to think I should just return this mixer.
