Here's a good question for you Pioneer DJ. Lets just say I've set up my DDJ-RZ on the table and started to play tunes for about an hour when someone like Kaskade decides to show up as a special guest for my event and do a special guest takeover. Can he simply plug in his Rekordbox USB into my computer and play off of his USB?
No. He would need to have his library and database on that external USB; it's not able to play from an export device on the computer itself.
In all reality, Kaskade would have his laptop with him, and could connect along side your computer as the RZ features dual USB connections for just such a case.

Thanks for the response. I suppose one day we'll see this kind of workflow. Since the Rekordbox platform originated through USB, I would love to see it happen first where people simply plug into a console (aka an already present laptop) and play straight from there. The dual USB is still great by the way.
@Tu > Unfortunately because rekordbox doesn't have its database travel with the music (that's an export database), the same functions don't necessarily apply. While it would be a fantastic option, I can't foresee this happening in the near future due to the way the application has been built.
