DJM-900 nexus

Hi,

Can anyone advise me how to set up my DJM-900 to record a live mix in Rekordbox DJ please?

I seem to be only recording one channel and a lot of loud white noise!!!

Cheers

Hi Pulse, I tried this setup up several times and couldn't get it to work, It kept cutting out and/or coming up with white noise. I then seen a post that someone else had put up recommending that the mixer always be connected directly to the computer and not through a USB hub. I have now done this and it seems to work fine :-)

This might be something worth adding to the instructions?

Hi Pulse, should Rekordbox record my Turntables that go through the phono channels?

Cheers

@DJ dp > If your recording input source is set to the REC OUT of the mixer, yes, it will record any inputs that would be going to the output.

Thanks Pulse, I've got that working fine now, it records both my vinyl, from Rekordbox with any FX from my mixer but I'm still having problem with White noise. I've tried dropping the levels incase it was clipping, I've just updated to 4.1.2 and it has made no difference.

I did a test for a minute (Using both Vinyl & Rekordbox mixing in together) It recorded fine for the first 10 seconds, then a random 5 seconds of just white noise then the remaining 45 seconds were fine!! What the devil is going on?!?!?

Cheers

It was playing through the mixer & monitors fine with no white noise but when I finish the recording and listened back to it, there is random white noise..

@DJ dp > Follow the instructions on that page to update your firmware; v1.31 has the fix for your exact problem:

  • Fixed an issue where a noise might be heard in the audio input and output from the USB port on some computers.

Thanks Pulse, I got it updated eventually (Doing it through the Mac wouldn't work, so I had to do it through my old XP laptop!! ;-) But it works perfectly now!!

Thanks again,

Were you able to update the firmware? Is that what needed to be done through your XP computer?
