Internal is with in the mixer, USB A or USB B plays the sounds that come loaded with in Rekordbox DJ. Do you want to change the type of sound or adjust the default sounds, the parameter knob makes the adjustments on the unit along with the volume knob.

When i use them as USB mode A/B and turn volume knob the sound crackling thats only when using USB mode. INT mode no crackling and i tryed to change sample rate that didnt help for that. I have mac book pro with 16gb ram.

EDIT: only OSC sounds crackling everything else works fine.

@Sami > Does that crackling only occur when you are rotating the knob?

I'm having exactly the same "problem" like Sami! I mean the second video, the crackling sound in USB mode when you turn the parameter knob, NOT the volume knob! Volume is working fine...

Running the DDJ RZ on the latest available firmware, driver and Rekordbox DJ Software version.

So any update for us?

Thanks,

Karsten

Atleast on my it cant be the knob because it works INT mode just fine. It does that only on USB mode

@Pulse: could you test/reproduce that sound/behavior with a ddj rz in your test environment?

In INT mode the noise and sine are pitched by the parameter knob and siren and horn have more like an echo, but no pitch when you turn the knob. In USB mode the parameter knob seems to work always like a pitch, no matter what slot you use... So that is also a difference between the two modes, is that correct?

@Sami: do you still have the problem, correct?

I found a review video on youtube:

https://youtu.be/J4ssJExL090

See minute 16:29 to 16:33 where the guy did some turning on the parameter knob in USB mode and you can hear the same crackling when he turns to the most left. Also you can see, that in USB mode the Knob is doing a pitch, while in INT mode it acts differently.

So in my opinion it's not a failure on our controllers, it's just the way it works. But i agree to Sami, that the sound is not clean and fine like in INT mode when you turn the knob!

@Pulse: do you agree with us? Could you please crosscheck that with the product development team? Thanks!

Could you all please try updating to the latest firmware (1.07, released July 1st) and rekordbox 4.2.1 (released August 2nd) and test this again?

I checked it again with the new release 4.2.1 and firmware 1.07. Nothing changed...

I did some further testing and put the osc sampler sounds directly to a deck and then play them with the CFX "Pitch" Effect. It sounds exactly the same than in USB with the OSC Sampler!

So could you confirm, that in INT mode the controller acts differently than in USB mode?

Could you also confirm, that in USB mode, every of the four OSC slots uses the CFX "Pitch" effect internally when you turn the Parameter knob?

Thanks,

Karsten
