XDJ-R1 not holding tempo 1.12 Firmware

I recently got a XDJ-R1, updated to the latest firmware, all was going well but it started falling out of time, either speeding up or slowing down but its only on the Right deck, you can even see the beat grid drifting.

I tried the sync function and it seemed to fix the issue but hate using sync.

All my tunes are MP3, I'm using the latest Rekordbox and a fully analysed library.

Anyone else having this issue or any ideas on what it is or how to fix it, your help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Hey all,

I'm sorry that this took so long to be issued, but the engineers have released firmware version 1.13 for the XDJ-R1, which addresses the following issues:

  • Noise occurred when playing some tracks on a USB storage device.
  • Hot cue position was not on the beat position when it was called on rekordbox even if it was set on XDJ-R1 with QUANTIZE ON.

You can download the update here, update instructions are available here.

@Simon > Does it happen with every track?

Did you perhaps analyse tracks with a consistent beat using Dynamic mode, or conversely, tracks with a live drummer in Normal mode?

Have you verified the tracks within rekordbox to ensure the grids are accurate?

being new to all this, what do you mean by verify the tracks within rekordbox?

Do you mean just ensure that the beatgrid aligns with the beats as they happen, if so then yeah i can readjust the grids and make sure that aligned.

The tracks seem to play at different speeds as the beatgrids are coming across the screen a different speeds.

Also my jog wheels seem stop working sporadically mid track, so many issues with this unit as a midi, plays well through USB but when id like use as a midi to set my mixes up im having all the issues.

@Simon > If you're not using the SYNC, the two tracks will not scroll across the screen at the same rate provided they're not the same original BPM. They will, however, "meet at the middle." This is just a visual thing and the two tracks will be matched with the beats aligned if the tempos are matched and the beat grids are set properly.
