Helix is the production version, Freeze was on a pre-production run and is not available on the final product.
I have seen quite a few videos showing off the new nxs2 line and curious on the new beat effect helix. On the non U.S retail mixers of the djm 900nxs2 there is a freeze effect in its place. I am assuming its just the same effect just different name. If that is the case it looks like besides it being a standard roll or loop effect with a pitch change you can actually add layers of rolls over each other. Can anyone confirm this? Out of all the videos I have seen only one mentions this which I would think is a big feature that pioneer would advertise.

Oh okay thanks do you know if helix allows to layer loops like the freeze? If not could you have the engineers add that to future firmware?
I played with it at the NAMM show but I don't recall how it worked in comparison to Helix, but I doubt they'd add the Freeze in an update either.
Oh okay yeah it looks like both helix and freeze allow loops and pitching change. So if helix does not allow feed back looping or layering loops then hopefully they could add that on a firmware update they don't need change the name. When you get a chance if you could find out for sure thanks.
The effects are the same. The only difference is the label on the faceplate of the mixer.
