Now what exactly is the problem? That your XDJ-RX shows only 1 number after the decimal point? If the beat grid is set correct, it will make the bars run equal on both tracks.
Hi,
This has no doubt been asked many times, although I couldn't find any posts relating to my specific problem. The issue I'm facing is one of that with tracks with weird BPMs. For example, I have a track here, it's been analyzed on normal mode, and it's a 320kb/s track. The bpm is coming up as 127.81bpm, although the beat grid appears to be lined up perfectly. Is this just the producers being difficult, and will this song sync up ok using the beat sync function on my xdj-rx? I don't tend to use that as a rule, but I like the option to be able to, if it's available. If I were to play this track, it would show up as 127.8 at 0%, I'm fairly sure. It's not a big difference, but I'm a bit of a pedant like that. Perfection is best, in my book!
Tanks, Ryan

The problem is more that it seems like a strange bpm for someone to have produced a track at. I've not tried this track yet, it's 11.05 where I am, and I'm a quality neighbour, but even on tracks where the bpm is the same, even with beat sync on, I need to make slight adjustments. I was wondering whether the unit would round it down to the nearest .1 of a beat, I suppose...
Pioneer headphones :-) Why is this weird? Traktor Pro analyses "everything" on 1/100th bpm. Every song has 2 numbers after the decimal point. And all EDM house is running correct over there. I've migrated from Traktor to Rekordbox. If beatgrids are set correct (but they have to be ***very*** correct) it's running quite fine. However on an XDJ-RX (which I also have) the sync has to be lit constantly. When you correct manually even if for 1 push, the sync starts flashing. Haven't got it quite understood why, but then I turn sync off and back on, and it's running ok. Anyone can clarify the sync button flashing?
I've never noticed what you highlighted about the sync button flashing. I'll need to investigate more on that tomorrow. I took it as having pressed the sync button, that both decks should be synced. I've been pressing sync on both decks though, is this incorrect? I try to only use it as a sort of fail safe, but it tends to run off, if only ever so slightly...
As far as I'm correct: play track 1 + sync (which comes master). Load track 2: press sync, start play. They run in sync and sync lit constantly on both. As soon as you jogwheel track 2, the sync starts flashing. Then bpm is still the same, but the grid bars are no longer "equal". So I guess this is not a problem for "regular" beatgrids, but what if the beatgrids are not all the same through the track. I'm still investigating this. Not really documented.
I suppose some of my beat grids aren't as perfect as I think they are, as quite a few of my tracks need to run off beat, as it were, to be in sync. Not by a great deal, only a millimetre or so on the screen, but they certainly need some adjustment from when I press the sync button on both decks.
Zoom to the maximum when setting beatgrids. Indeed, when you suddenly are a little away from it, you think your track is not running in sync anymore (and it isn't) then you jogwheel ... and you kind of disable the sync by doing that. If the sync is flashing, your bpm is still sync'ed, but your beatgrids aren't synced anymore. The more correct, the less sorrows. But....... it's a hell of a job to set them all correct. Don't forget to "lock" the analysis after you've set them. Otherwise maybe in a couple of weeks you can start all over again ;-)
