CDJ 900's not linking with rekordbox external HD

Hi, I've searched through the forums and I don't see an answer to my problem. Up  until a week ago, my 900's had been working perfectly while playing just off of my external HD with rekordbox and linking the two CDJ's. All of a sudden, in the same night after they had been working, the link function stopped working. My HD is formatted correctly and it still recognizes it on the player it's plugged into, but it doesn't recognize it on the other player. I've tried using different ethernet cables (bought a brand new one), different HD's, checking to see if anything was bent or looked wrong in the link port, making sure the player number was determined automatically… nothing has worked so far.

Please help I'm playing tonight and I have weekly gigs, I can't afford this BS!

I haven't updated rekordbox in a few months, and the firmware on my CDJ's hasn't changed in years (version 4.11 I believe?). Seeing as how I'm not using my computer to link at all, I'm not sure how changing the firewall settings on my computer would help? The only thing I can think of is that it could be a problem with one of the link ports on my CDJ's, which I'm hoping isn't the case because I'd have to send them in and be without them for 2-4 weeks...

Thank you for responding and trying to help me out!

@Chris > It could certainly be updates to the operating system which may have changed firewall permissions. Did anything in the read-me article help at all?

I haven't updated my OS in quite a long time, and I've tried with several different external HD's that belong to different people, (again, I'm using an external HD that is formatted with rekordbox and plugging it directly into my CDJ, not using my computer at all when I DJ) so i don't think it has anything to do with firewall settings on my computer.

@Chris > Ah, I understand -- you said "rekordbox external HD" I was under the assumption that you had your library stored on an external HD connected to your computer and you were linking there.

If you've already checked the pins on the connectors and tried different ethernet cables, that's really the nuts-and-bolts of it - other than that, it could simply be a bad ethernet port on one of the players, and unfortunately the only thing you can do there is to have the unit serviced by contacting Pioneer technical support in your region.
