VSX-53 NO VIDEO

This unit lost video shortly out of warranty.  Did not get repair estimate.  Have since googled the unit.  Seems as though several others have same problem.  Some had repairs and a repeat of the problem.  Am interested in a secondary unit?  That said because I either need. to repair this one or purchase another unit to have both the video and sending music to other rooms. Therefore, is it worth repair of a unit that Pioneer perhaps does not admit selling  a defective prone unit or do I purchase a replacement unit?  If the later is favorable., I am one and will always recommend that poor company production should never be rewarded for not supporting their mistakes.  Thank you.
