hi
when using the DVS feature on rekordbox dj with a pair of pioneer PLX 1000 turntables and the DDJ RX controller i get a very unsteady BMP playback which makes it impossible to beat match...i m sure my tone arms are balanced and i got new stylus..i use rekordbox dvd vinyls and calibrate the turntables in the software...the bmp varies in almost 1 bmp e.g.: from 125.20 to 126.18
when i had traktor and z2 mixer (my old setup) it worked fine with the same turntables
any ideas?..
please pioneer team need some support
regards

You mean BPM and yes i have the same problem. not possible to sync the tracks, the bpm is all wobbeling. Also with sync buttons on the tracks will not line up
yeah sorry i meant bpm and now i have tried it with an djm 850 mixer and it does the same..and to rule out being the turntables i have tried it on traktor and it runs fine so i can say is defo the software..i wonder what people will say when they try it with the new 2 channel mixer djm 450
yes same here. Tryed it with traktor and serato, and work fine there
Have you run the calibration within rekordbox?
thanks for your input yes i have.
any other dj program has a calibration process for it that i am well aware of..plus it s right in front of you in the dvs menu...
after trying with a dj controller (ddj rx) and the mixer pioneer djm 850...and after calibration of software and arm tone and cleaning the dvs vinyls and check cables and and clean needles and then trying it back on traktor and it works fine ..i think it would be fair to conclude that there is bug in the program which i have to say is likely to happen in a new program...
so maybe we could take this further and have it tested?...i mean pioneer is about to launch the djm 450 with the licenses..so is it gonna be buggy with a professional pair of turntables such as the pix 1000?
hope not..anyway at least you got something to look at and please do help us if you find anything new..oh by the way the playback in rekordbox is set to fixed before you ask not alternate
many thanks
+1 for me here
Something is not correct in DVS mode. Its a expensive program but not function
as it should. We need Pioneer on this one. Please
Thanks guys, I've asked our rekordbox team to provide some insight.
any news yet? guys
cheers
No, but thanks for your patience.
news on this?
Same here. Since my RB DVS day one, I am noticing the track speed extremely unstable.
Definityly not correct behavior when comparing with other DVS apps I am using.
also found out that the Sample deck in RB never sync's with track that is playing.
It just don't changes the BPM
...and also enabling sync on the dvs deck and trying to sync it to a hid (non-dvs) deck causes funky things to happen :-))
Please check this out. M=bpm reset

And a other on.. at Sync on track just went to +16% out of nowere
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ztPHQjflZXY&feature=em-upload_owner
after that selected a new song, but that pitch don't go to zero.
Alsow when cueing a song, hit hotque and queing with my turntable the pitch
goos down
bump
right new update for the program did they have a look at it?..no its still the same..stick with traktor or serato for now guys
the thing i hate the most is Pioneer dont answer us here.
We like to be updated with the findings! We understand that some is issues
are hard to solve but let us know what your are doing with it?
We have a ticket open with the rekordbox team, your patience is appreciated while they investigate your complaints.
Hey guys, please check out the 4.3.0b2 beta version released today - it should address some of the issues with the DVS BPM fluctuation.
Thanks! gonna check it out now.
The 4.3.0b2 feels much better and the bpm is more stable....
Still can't help myself, the overall feeling is different than in Serato which is the proven standard for me.
With the rekordbox, I have got a feeling that I don't have the mix under control and I don't know why. Its behavior is also not very predictable which is imho the biggest pain...
1) At some moment, one of the decks went to 186.something bpm, while both decks were playing at 176 (no thats not due to a grid). I suspect that this might be due to my attempt to sync the decks and see how the sync works. Well, the sync doesn't work at all (maybe it synces the tempo but doesn't align the track grids). Also when one deck is 176.1 and the other one is 176.3, the value of 186 is far from the expected result :-D
2) Some of my tracks are set to autoloop - the autoloop itself works, but gets disabled when you switch the mode of the pads.
3) On the other hands, the point 2) wasn't that bad because I found no ui controls to disable the loop. Maybe I am just blind but haven't noticed this when using hid as I am using the loop buttons on the cdj's. Sadly there are no such buttons on my turntables :-D
4) That bloody hot cues... :-) I know that this topic is around for months and for someone in pioneer its "expected behavior" no matter how many users are upset by the way how this works (and which imho works differently than on the cdj's), but I am getting soooo angry every time I use and miss the hotcue and it triggers out of time...
4.3.0 b2 is a nice attempt and there is a noticeable improvement but still, I will keep using serato until this becomes a more mature product (and it does have the Link that allows me to do a really cool stuff I always wanted).
bottom line:
Its super cool that the pioneer does have a route map for adding a features, but seriously - you should more focus on polishing the current set of features than on adding a features targeted to a very very limited group of users (sorry guys but I am not getting why you focus on such a nonsense features like adding a video FX instead of fixing some real problems hurting all your users - the 1/1000th of jerks using the video will not help you to make regular dj's - which are the vast majority btw. - to change from other software.... I know that there are dedicated teams but it still makes much more sense to focus you whole manpower on becoming "the most stabile, best performing and the most competitive" one than be that "psst hey we have got one more video FX than you do" one... You are betting it all on your cdj walled garden which is not good :(
^^ tl;dr :-D
I agree, the software is focused too much on the side of the controller, the dvs still far compared to Serato or other software, but I understand they have a concept of development and I can not argue with that, but I'm sure things will improve. surely the situation has improved but there is still too much swing on serato or almost zero movement of bpm
@Zazadj sure - I am just saying that the improvements/fixes on RB are much slower than expanding of its features and that for me, its sadly far not ready to replace a software which is here basically since the very first dvs and does have an adequate industry know how...
Serato is definitely more solid, but even they are not fast, are years that we expect support for Retina display and high resolution screens, a 64-bit software, but until now nothing, at least on the graph Rekordbox side is much nicer compared pixel and the tiny display on Windows if you do not lower the resolution
rekordbox has had more releases than any other DJ software over the same period. Our teams are working hard to improve every aspect, not just add new features. ;)
