CDJ-2000NXS2 Stuck at power on

Hi.

A friend of mine bought a set of Pioneer CDJ-2000NXS2 and one of the units turns on, all buttons have light, but the screen remains black and nothing else happens.

The unit doesn't respond to the firmware upgrade command (USB + RELOOP/EXIT, plus POWER), it simply does not react at all.

Any help around here?

Best regards,

Paulo Brinca.

An error message such as the CPU ERROR certainly indicates that your CDJ will require servicing. Please contact the Pioneer DJ support centre nearest you to have it repaired under warranty.

Have you tried removing the power cable with the power button in the OFF position? When reconnecting the cable, is the power still off?

My friend experienced this problem rather alarming it's happened to a second person now
Obvious HardWare issue with the new units.

Long story short he sent it back to pioneer I wouldn't waste time asking questions get them to get you a new one

@wesley j > They won't send you a new unit, it would be inspected, repaired and returned.

I will get new one on this week. Pioneer inspected and decided that that was Manufacturer fault, error. Now I worry about second one because this is the next one by serial number from first with manufacturer fault. Anyway how your CDJ Paulo Brinca? I am curious what is your serial number as well because I think some series of CDJ'S have manufacturer fault who knows few, ten, hundred. My was manufactured in March 2016.

Just because it was the next one off the line doesn't mean it will also experience this issue. I hope that everything is okay for your replacement.

While trying to update my pair of CDJ2000NXS2 last night (new firmware update for Serato Link) one of the player upgarde process stopped abruptly and I am seeing the same ERROR message on one player now and other is working fine.

Is service centre the only option?

Sorry to hear that mate you are not first one with this problem. If you see the same error message (E-7024: MAIN CPU ERROR) that means CPU fault like in my one. Pioneer gave me new one so should exchange for you for new unit if is still under warranty. I don't know how will be after warranty but that fault is definitely manufacturers fault so even after warranty Pioneer should exchange that is my opinion.

@Pioneer > Thanks, for responding. What exactly do you mean by "force the firmware to update"?

E-7024: MAIN CPU ERROR:::::

Failed firmware update

Just update a firmware previous to the one failed, than the update works again :-) !!!

See the update history file for earlier versions. (just change the last figures in the download link of the recent firmware; changed v171.zip tot v170.zip)

For us this one worked:

If re-flashing your firmware doesn't work, it will require servicing.
