Trouble connecting Rekordbox to XDJ-RX

Hi, I've recently purchased an XDJ-RX and downloaded rekordbox, have also downloaded up-to-date firmware and drivers, all showing as successfully installed.

I have tried connecting my laptop (Samsung) via Ethernet and USB and the option to connect doesn't appear in Rekordbox which after a week is really starting to frustrate me.

Additionally, I tried transferring all my music on to a 2TB external hard drive and connecting via a USB port and again this doesn't appear to work, XDJ-RX just comes up with an error code.

The only way I can connect my music is via my iPhone - any suggestions to get the laptop / external hard drive option working?

You did not mention how you connected RX and Laptop. Is it directly on via router, switch. For me it never worked with direct connection, but via router - no problem at all. RX has to get dynamic IP on the same range as your laptop and they will see each other. Also, make sure you have ports opened. If it is Windows system on your laptop, when you installed rekordbox it probably asked you about a connection to private and public networks - just allow all and you should be good to go. I am not Mac user, so can't suggest anything on that matter.

As for the disk, i have 2TB disk, too, and it works just fine.
You should format it like it is mentioned on some of the official help forum topics (HP formatter). Works fine. Takes a long time (and you should format disk 2 times), but is is worth to wait. I had no problems whatsoever after that.

Windows 10, latest RX 1.60 drivers, latest rekordbox.

Okay, new set of problems...

So I've purchased a 128GB flash drive so I can download the latest firmware which I've done. This drive is FAT32 formatted and works with every other unit I plug it into, so flash drive 100% working...

I've followed the instructions to update the firmware. When I plug in the flash drive I'm expecting this to start updating, but nothing happens.

Second thing, I've saved all my music on to the flash drive and exported the playlists from Rekordbox in XML format and it comes up with 'E-8307' error message.

Starting to get so hacked off now, all I want is for the unit to read my music. I was expecting this to be far less painful than having to burn CDRs however I actually miss my old CDJ800s now!

p.s. Also worth mentioning, when I plug in my flash drive, Rekordbox doesn't recognise this as a device?!???

@Stephen > How did you format the drive? What is the operating system you're using on your computer?

The RX won't read XML files from the USB drive, you must export from rekordbox.

Hi everything was formatted correctly, windows 10 on my laptop. I searched these forums and found a thread with a link to some file download. I installed this on my flash drive and 2TB external drive it appears to be picking all files up fine.

Looks like this is some kind of formatting file someone put together (not pioneer) and fixed everything. A little frustrated as you'd expect everything to plug in and work straight away. Ahh well, all seems to be working fine now.

Hi , I am having this same problem. The only thing is when I last used my equipment about 2 weeks ago it was working fine (lan to xdj from laptop). I went to go on my equipment again on Sunday and am now unable to link my unit with my laptop (link icon does not appear)

I have had this problem before and spoke with you about this before Pulse and got a fix.

However since then I have not changed any settings at all so I am unsure what has happened for it to suddenly stop working. Please help I have a festival gig this weekend and need to arrange my folders
