Can't install firmware

 Hi,

I'm very new to this so sorry if this is painfully obvious! I just purchased a DDJ-RB and installed Rekordbox etc. When I plug the controller into my Mac it says I need to install new firmware and points me in the direction of where to download. When I download and go to install it it gets to the 'Updater Program' section and just says:

Not sure if this has any baring on my second problem... but at the moment I am just trying to play through my laptop speakers (and have selected this as an option when Rekordbox opens) but when I load a track through the controller it plays but there is no sound coming from anywhere.

Sorry if I'm missing something very simple, as I say, I'm very new to this!

Hi Jess, welcome! Are you sure you're following the firmware update instructions properly?  Did you make sure to put the DDJ-RB into update mode before running the update file?

To answer the second question... Open your rekordbox Preferences, click the Audio tab, and on the second line down select "Built-in Output" from the drop down menu.  Your sound should now play through your Mac speakers.
