I can tell you that this is not likely going to happen in the immediate future but that's not to say it won't possibly get added at some point down the road. At this point, we just have to wait and see.
Hi
I Ben and I'm new to the forum.
I am an old CDJ user. After a long break from DJ-ing I've picked it up again and started using Traktor however I'm not getting on with it as well as I would like and I have recently been thinking about starting to get myself back to a standard that I can play out again.
After looking at the latest stuff from Pioneer I am pretty convinced that Rekordbox is the way to go as I can use pretty much all the Pioneer products. I'm thinking a Pioneer controller for my home set up and then I can use CDJ's at venues that have them or if not I can take the controller with me.
My question is this. Does pioneer have any plans for incorporating stem mixing or something similar to the remix decks that Traktor has?
This ability to rmx in the fly is what attracted me to the NI software in the first place, The Pioneer products don't seem to have anything similar, but with stems now becoming a bigger thing I wondered how users of pioneer products incorporate the ability to use stems or remix into there sets?

Thanks for the response there Mark.
One thing I wondered about since asking the question is if there is a way to sync Traktor and Rekordbox, allowing for the use of a NI D2 In conjunction with a Pioneer DDJ RX or RR?
Not to my knowledge.
Rekordbox is def the way to go mate...
Get yourself a Rekordbox DJ controller like the DDJ-RX or something so that you can play around at home etc on that and build your library inside Rekordbox over time, and whenever you need to play on CDJ's just export it all to Flash Drive and there you go!!
This was exactly my thinking.
The only down side I can see at the moment is not being able to perform live remixes by taking advantage of stem mixing. But I think the advantages of Rekordbox and being able to use Pioneer equipment cross platform could well out way this minor gripe
Yeah Stems mixing holds some unique advantages and possibilities hey...
just think it is a bit new still and not so mainstream, the few that can mix with Stems mixing is better off for now using Traktor and the S8 or so... maybe in the future Pioneer would combine a modular type controller type thing with CDJs via USB or Ethernet link and that is how they will mix with Stems or something... Who knows...
But for now I think you are on the right track :)
Thank you Armand.
Really nice to talk to you. I have always found it really difficult asking for advise on forums. They always seem hard to get chatting on and people don't always want to provide advice or help. :-)
No problems 🙂,I am glad if it helped, I just try to help where I can on these forums as I have a great love for Pioneer and their amazing products too!
I hope you get into the hang of djing again good and enjoy it even more then when you played back then!
Yeah I love Pioneer too. I was a user of CDJ1000's back in the day which I use to love. The product range they have now just looks amazing.
Out of interest do you know anyone that has or uses either the DDJ RX or RZ. Both look amazing but I just wondered if the price hike between the two is worth it?
No sorry...
I also think the RX looks like a awesome controller for Rekordbox hey... The RZ is quite big... I would maybe then rather save some more and opt for something like 2 XDJ1000's and a DJM750 or something seeing as you are used to cdjs.
If you just want a controller I would get the RX as it has most of the features of the RZ but cheaper and smaller in size.
But that is just my opinion as I have not played on a RX or RZ yet... or the XDJ1000s.
I still rock with my DDJ-S1 or my Nexus1 setup...
Dear Pioneer!... I read your post above from May.
Where are you now with stems and similar questions?
Just bought a DDJ-RR (Rekordbox) but my friends just now bought S8 (Traktor) and I really want to be able to do stems mixing or similar!... please throw us a bone! There are some DJs out there who are about to switch to Rekordbox, mainly because of library etc, but this stem thing would just really be great if you adopt(?)
Cheers
