They've figured this one out and it will be fixed in an upcoming release.
used the "Shortcut/Search" buttons a lot last night as tests as i went through my gig, I noticed the later i got in the night the slower it became.
At times I would hit "Shortcut/Search" and it would be stuck on the shortcut screen and display "Track" and lock up, I would have to hit other buttons to get out of it and navigate
also at times i would hit "Shortcut/Search" and i would just get the waiting wheel of death for a long time, let one sit up to 30 seconds to test and then had to for out of it to my playlists.
this happens when you have a previous search still in there, when you go back it is researching what you typed last time. there should be a way where once a searched track is played for more then lets say 30 seconds, it auto clears the previous typed out search, it is slowing down the search feature when you try and return to it
I am doing this iff a 512gb Patriot magnum USB3 drive with about 30,000 tracks on it. it searches REALLY fast initially which is great but going back to the search area from the shortcut menu doesn't work sometimes, similar to another thread i have to where hitting "Shortcut/Track" locks the deck and doesn't display my tracks

if anyone looks at this, here is a video showing how i can hit SEARCH and nothing happens, it even displays "TRACKS" at the top sometimes when I'm hitting SEARCH. happens often when a search is left hanging out in the background for a while as you are playing for hours, when you try and go back to search via shortcut, it locks up
if i hit BACK and then scroll to search using the scroll knob and not using shortcuts then it displays the search but says "wait" for a little while

Escalated to the engineers.
thank you Pulse
thank you for the update above Pulse, great news!
They were able to replicate the issue of the shortcut button and a fix will be issued, but regarding the slow-down, they would like to know if that was the same database in both situations and how many songs were in use on that drive at the time.
yes Pulse, same drive and database all night, Its a 512gb USB3 Patriot Magnum with exactly 38,912 tracks ( i know, its insane but i like to have EVERYTHING for mobile situations)
Yeah, 400 songs you'll actually play and 38,512 that will never see the light of day. ;)
Thanks.
LOL.... We have had this discussion plenty, hahaha
last night the brides dad came up, big old italian dude, """Do you have Vivo Per Lei" Italian slow song, I searched on the NXS2's, why yes I do and played it for him and his wife, that alone is why i keep ALL my tracks with me
And that was likely the first time you've ever played it, right? ;)
Absolutely but it made his night :) could be the deal breaker between getting ur next gig or not from that family so I'll keep the collection on me being it weighs less then 1 pound in my bag. Lol
And I don't blame you - I just hate having so many bloody songs I'll never play.
don't say never, I thought i would never play vivo per blah blah blah song and what do you know
Or once. ;) lol
